I love this gun! Hi-Point doesn't make bad guns they make bad mags... I do gunsmithing and have fixed many of these things. The ears usually need tweaked to prevent "nose-diving" of the round. My JHP 45 performs flawlessly. I really hate the ugly mag though. Do yourself a favor and stuff a 1911 mag in it. Just put a tang in the mag catch. Takes 5 min tops. Feeds like a champ and improves the look dramaticly. Being born and raised in Ohio I had to try Hi-Point. I'm glad I did. Best value on the market today! I bought the JHP because I loved the C9 I just bought so much. I own Magnum Research, Glocks, Rugers, Sigs, STIs, FNs, Kimbers, ect. Both my Hi-Points are every bit as reliable as my fancy brands. Ya can't go wrong with Hi-Point! The hard case isn't bad either...

Alot of my military friends has said Hi-point was a piece of junk. It was told to me that it would explode in my hand. wasn't convinced, so I purchased a Hi-point 45ACP. After firing 250 arounds, I loved the balance. It would say, do not purchase a handgun solely on the name. Budsgunshop also has great service.

This was my first purchase from Bud's- awesome service. Yep, it's big and kinda ugly, but in a good way. My only real problem was the grip, but a Hogue sleeve fixed that. I did have a few jams, but have put close to 400 rounds through it and feel that it is a reliable, accurate pistol.

Can't beat the price. Took it to the range and ran through about 100 rounds. No issues using American Eagle FMJs. I've had no magazine issues. I repeatedly loaded and unloaded them to break in the spring before heading to the range. Seems to have worked. This thing is a beast. Definitely not a CCW gun. Heavy, but that helps with the recoil. I was worried about the negative views of Hi-Point mainly because people said an affordable gun couldn't be high quality. I shouldn't have. In fact, I'm about to buy another.

I have to admit I was skeptical about the HI-Points price. Fired 200 rounds through it last weekend. No issues what so ever. Very Accurate, quality is good, it is fairly heavy. Very satisfied with the performance of it. The others that were shooting with us were quite surprised at the quality of the hi-point.

If you buy this gun and you have problems with it jamming "right out of the box" its probably because you didnt not clean and oil the gun before taking it to the range. This gun is a beast, yes it does feel a little cheap in your hand but I cleaned mine up before taking it out to shoot and it was flawless. Very accurate and fired every time I pulled the trigger even when shooting as fast as possible.
