I have about 3,000 rounds through this pistol now and have had very few issues at all. Like all .22lr semi auto pistols, it likes the better ammo, but will run almost any decent bulk ammo with no problems. CCI stinger and Mini Mags are 100% reliable and any decent high velocity rounds (both lead and copper plated, round nose or hollow point) are about 98% reliable. I do clean it after ever range trip and if I'm shooting a bunch in one day, I will stop after about 150 rounds and do a quick cleaning to keep it shooting smoothly. I had an issue with the slide lock. It kept moving up and would eventually cause FTF / FTE issues, but ATI is sending me a replacement slide lock of the newer design that solves this issue. ATI was easy to deal with and is sending it for free. The frame is Parkerized or similar and doesn't scratch easily, but the slide is painted with a bakelite type coating that shows holster wear fairly easily....I don't mind that, but some might. As usual, Buds was easy to order from and shipped quickly to my local FFL. I love this gun and the fact that I can order parts from any 1911 manufacturer (like the flat mainspring housing I put in last week). Magazines are a bit pricey at about $30 each, but they are also VERY well made and are NOT plastic. Accuracy is AWESOME as it will hit anything I aim at. I have shot 9" metal plates at up to 60yds (just to see if I could) and get about 7 of 10 hits while standing offhand with the factory sights. I am impressed with this gun and with Buds!!

I really enjoy this gun! When I first got the gun I had some problems with FTE and FTL. The problem was two fold. After visiting several online sites about recurring problems with the gun I figured it out. Old cheap ammo, and a lack of lubrication. The gun now works flawlessly. Great gun, great price, and fast shipping. I could not be happier!

ordered the gun on a monday, sent a money order and had it the next monday.i cleaned the gun and reoiled it before taking it to the range. i only had two ftfs out of one hundred fifty rounds of wildcat ammo that was thirty years old.the only problem i had was the magazine release spring went bad,no big deal a quick fix.remember these are made by the thousands, there are bound to be bad parts in some of them,no gun maker is perfect.would recomend a full length stainless steel guide rod avalible on line for about sixteen dollars.i would recomend this gun to anyone, dont be put off by a few bad reviews.

Got this lil GSG for my sons and I to shoot since my oldest (10 yrs old) is a military history nut and I thought it would be more fun than a Ruger etc. The gun came almost completely dry and the rails had some of the coating on them making them gritty and a little sticky. A little touch up on the rails and some oil and the thing shoots well with bulk ammo! An occasional FTF has been rare and no more often than friends' Rugers, Brownings etc. It has become a family favorite! And the price at Bud's can't be beat.

Right out of the box at my FFL's shooting range I could not resist shooting about 250 rounds (CCI Mini Mag, CCI Blazer, and Federal Bulk). I did have a few FTE and FTL. I then cleaned the gun thoroughly and added a CW accessories compensator to improve rapid fire accuracy (also looks cool and makes the gun a little louder). During my 2nd visit to the range, I also broke in 3 new magazines. One of the mags gave me lots of FTL problems, but the gun performed great. Not until 800 rounds without cleaning on this visit did it start having problems loading rounds. It's a great gun and I suspect if bore snaked every 300 rounds or so will perform great. I very happy with both the GSG 1911 and Bud's great service.

I ordered this gsg and received from buds in I believe three business days thumbs up. Took gsg 1911 to range without cleaning because it looked good to go. Well had no problems with it, used federal bulk, blazer cheapo, and cci. It ate everything no problem and was accurate. I had nice tight groups. I love the way the gsg looks and feels, very similar to a 1911 I have in. 45 acp. I elected to go with gsg over other 1911-.22lr I looked at because of impressive quality. A must have if your looking for a 1911-.22lr. Thumbs up!
