Easy installation on an M1A scout. Tight fit but no trimming, filing, or manhandling required. Easy to end up with a perfect length of pull, sight picture, and cheek weld, though at the cost of some additional weight, resulting in a 10 pound 9 ounce rifle without optic.

I really wanted this stock to work. Perhaps this stock was warped from sitting in storage....not sure, just my opinion. I carefully fit the trigger assembly to the stock. It was a little tight, but that's good. Then I fit the receiver into the stock. It would not lay down, I'm thinking there must be some resistance so the trigger would pull it tighter? After sanding (carefully) I got it to lay down about 1/16th high and then put the trigger assembly on. It snapped shut.......good, now for the range test. My rounds were all over the place, I shoot the same 7.62 x 51 Federal as usual but could not get a good 2" group at 100yrds. Shot around 100 rounds....................took it home and put the original stock back on and went back to the range. That's it! 1" groups all day..................So my thinking is when putting the receiver on the stock it would not lay down all the way......Then when I put the trigger assembly on, it pulled the receiver down and I think is was putting pressure on the barrel and causing the harmonic waves to react in a negative way? Not sure about this, but that's all I could figure out.
It fit well in my hand, I just think I got a bad one...................................I took the Archangel apart and used the cheek rest on my M1A stock......That's it.

Bought 2 of these in my life. Save yourself money and buy it here on buds gun shop. Best price anywere. Same quality archangel stock made by promag. Wish i had bought the first one here to. Looks really nice on your m1a and functions flawlessly. Installation may be a lil difficult the first time but gets easier as the stock actually forms to your very own m1a. You could buy like 5 of these for the price of 1 troy battle stock (chassis only) so its a really good value. For help with installation or just more info on the stock watch the archangel installation video on youtube. Only 1 complaint I ever see is that the hand grip doesnt have any texture at all. That being said its not that bad. IT still feels good and you dont feel that your going to lose grip. You could easily get a wrap or remedy that problem also.

Well I got my stock in on Friday, that was some super shipping with UPS!! This stock is a very tight fit to the M1A. I had to take off some of the trigger pad area on the stock. But watch the YouTube video. Thanks again buds guns for the fast shipping and the cheapest price. You will always get my business.

Buds was great again, for the stock, badass.....fit was very tight, but good drop in tight i did not touch it with any tools, after 100rds fits like a glove. This thing looks every bit as good as it shoots. Very comfortable, and tactical this is a keeper.

Received this stock yesterday. It took about 20 minutes to install (Required a minimal amount of filing on the trigger fitting pads with a small flat file but no other adjustments). Amazing stock. With the adjustable cheek pads and stock, is a perfect fit. I am not a gunsmith by any stretch of the imagination but between the included instructions and the great YouTube video (just can't force myself to use the word "clip," almost anyone can do this. When I said a minimal amount of filling, My guess is 003 thousands (about 5 strokes with the fine-tooth flat file. Enough so the guard would clear the trigger). Snapped into place like it was custom made. Great product. It won't be the last one I buy.

First, the price at Buds for this stock is the lowest I have seen. As for the stock itself, I did like the feel of the stock better than the standard M1A stock. It is a very solid stock, but not heavy, and I have the impression it will last forever. While some have complained about the installation of the stock being very hard and time consuming, I did not experience much of a problem. I did have to use a file for a few minutes so the trigger assembly would fit. A dremel was not needed, and the amount filed away was a fraction of a millimeter to a millimeter. If you view the Archangel installation video on youtube, you will be set. There were no issues with installing the barrel/receiver group. It is a very tight fit, but it all came together. The adjustable cheek piece is very sturdy, and I found that I personally needed it, as the standard M1A stock did not give me the cheek weld I needed to comfortably use the iron sights. As I am using a military web sling, you will need to order a pair of sling swivels and a sling, as neither the stock nor the M1A rifle come with it.

My first visit after watching Hickok45 videos and decided what the hey..Ordered this stock at a price I couldn't pass up on Aug 29th Received it today Sept 5th. Took about a hour to fit it, my hands aren't as young as they used to be, and Its a winner for me. Keep in mind this is a tension fit and it does take a while to get everything to seat properly. If you have a M1A or M14 this stock is a must have. The wait times for other more expensive custom stocks is nonsense and this has all the bells and whistles you could as for ( for me anyway) . Really pleased with the stock and I'll be back again for more from Bubs.. Well done !! Regards Leo F Saito Palm Harbor, Fl

To start off looks great haven't shot yet but bad is wouldn't expect to dremil this for 1 hour to get this to fit but if u got til and take care while wearing it away for $200 can't ask for cooler looking stock and the feature it had the adjustable cheek and stock work great feels great in ur hand but if you do buy this you will have to dremil the trigger assembly area the most but did a functions check with the stock on and rifle functions properly with the archangel stock

In 1970, I was issued a M-14 in USMC Bootcamp. I loved everything about it except carrying it around. I later obtained a M1A Super Match for use in military matches. It was VERY accurate, but I had trouble with my grip on the rear stock. It was too thick and not at the best angle. I traded it for a National Match which was more comfortable but still not a great fit. I recently bought a "plain Jane" and decided to find a better stock. Since I didn't pay a fortune for the weapon, I did not want to pay a lot of money for the stock...but wanted high quality and excellent accuracy. After much research I bought Archangel AAM1A from BUDs. When it arrived, I was very impressed with the fit and finish. After carefully and fully reading the excellent directions, I tried to put my action in the stock. It was very close, but not perfect. I then went on line and found the factory demo, which I watched. It reassured me that I was doing it right, but not using enough force to snap the trigger guard shut. I tried it again with more force and it snapped shut as advertised. Earlier today, I took it to the range and shot several groups at 100 yards. Everything I tried produced uniform groups as had been the case with the factory stock. I satisfied myself that the new stock was not adversely affecting my groups and it is much more comfortable to shoot. Another important plus is the adjustable cheek piece. When scoped, a completely different cheek weld is required due to the height of the scope after mounting. On the M1A, there is no way around this (except mounting forward of the barrel). With this set up, I can crank the cheek piece down and use the iron sights which are visible under the scope mount, or if you needed to remove the mount in the field for some reason. All in all, I am more than satisfied with this product. It resembles some more expensive stocks, but the engineering is much different (no metal inserts etc), so I believe it to be an original design, not a copy of someone else's work. If you are going to be shooting at less than 600 yards or less, a more expensive stock will probably not bring anything to the game. Use the money saved to buy more ammo!
