Amazing fun rifle from the past! Iron sights are still important to know how to use and this fine rifle will help. 6" group at 600 yds should be easy.

I purchase this as my secret weapon, it is a long range shooter with a 32" barrel. Love it. Not for rookie shooters I feel.

The rifle itself is in good order, took it to the range this past weekend and fired commercial and black powder rounds through it. The walnut furniture is very nice with good checkering although there is a cosmetic stain on the stock (very small). Every thing seems fine except at first there was no rear sight in the carton. When I got it home from the FFL, I found the rear sight in the carton but there are no screws to install it on the rifle.

Have not shot yet, but a very nice looking rifle that feels right and is well balanced. Great peep sight system. The checkered walnut gives it class. Looking forward to the big boom and kick. Buds service top shelf as expected.

I bought this rifle to shoot black powder handloads. It is a quality rifle on a proven, simple design. The sights are fanastic. The receiver is drilled and tapped for for a scope base which I bought from Amazon. I also bought a cheapo slip-on recoil pad made by Allen, also from Amazon. For the price and features, the Buffalo Classic is hard to beat.

Excellent price for an absolutely wonderful weapon. A tack driver at one hundred yards out of the box. Felt recoil is pretty minimal with the length of barrel. If you like single shot rifles and the precision they deliver you will certainly not be disappointed. Buds service was remarkable excellent communication through the whole buying process and gun arrived in perfect condition. Thank you

Buds Service was exceptional as usual. My only issue is that the front sight was loose and had to be set when I unpacked it. Otherwise the gun was in great shape and arrived promptly. I have shot about 20 rounds of TenX ammo and the grouping is not very good, but it is too early to really tell. I have not had a chance to shoot from a bench and really see what it will do. The other problem is 18 of the 20 rounds misfired and had to be shot twice to get an ignition. I just recocked and shot again and they fired each time on the second shot. The primers look like they are set right but this might be an ammo problem.

I had not seen one of these until a friend of mine brought one to the range one day and let me shoot it. I have two other .45-70's: one Marlin 1895 cowboy model, 26" octagon barrel, lever-action which is one sweet shooting firearm; the other is a NEF Handi-Rifle single-shot, break-open with 24" barrel, also sweet shooting. BUT, when I shot this Buffalo Classic by H & R at 50 yards with the iron sights and center-punched a nickel-sized target mark, I knew I had to order one. The finish is superb; accuracy out of the box is astonishing; precision parts are notable. For the money (around $350 retail at honest shops), a person can't go wrong with this classic. It is one which would rival Quigley for accuracy, perhaps not quite for the same distance, but that remains to be determined. I ordered one today from Bud'sGunShop.com for less than the price stated above, because they ARE an honest dealer !
