This is the second one I've bought. They only cycle with high velocity ammo. 1255fps or higher. So if you plan to supresse it and hope to run subsonic ammo look else where. That said I love the gun and it shoots very well. Polish the feed ramp and reliability increases dramatically. The magazines themselves are the problem child with the firefly

Even though I saw mixed reviews, I took the chance and made the purchase. I have almost 80 rounds through it so far, and only two failure to feed. I don't even consider this to be broke in yet, and at that failure rate, I can be happy. Fun to shoot, feels great in my hand, and my wife loves it too. No regrets.

I have heard nothing but good things about the firefly GSG so I purchased one and it is a great firearm, have put several rounds thru it with no misfires or jams,also I enjoy the threaded barrel, it feels great in your hands, but the best thing I like about this firearm is that when the clip is ejected the firearm will not fire, the only downside is the clip only holds 10 rounds like most 22 handguns if you know of any extended mags that will fit the firefly please post, it being a 22 you would think it would have more rounds in the clip. I enjoy this firearm and will purchase another for my wife, she nothing but good things to say about it. Be. Safe

My daughters love this pistol. Smooth shooting and have not had any issues feeding or firing any ammo so far. Good hand feel for small and large hands.

This a a well built firearm. Purchased as a .22 that mimics the weight and approx size of my 9mm, to use to increase range time practices in lieu of higher 9mm ammo prices. I am not disappointed.

I LOVE these GSG guns. This is one of my favorite .22's to shoot and it is even more fun with a silencer. I also have two GSG 1911's because I have to try them all in each color. Great value, great little plinker.

Fun gun to shoot but doesn't like all ammo

I bought this piece as a low-cost plinker. It looks cool and has great ergo, but that's where the good stuff ends. It's hard to get through a couple of mags without a misfire, stovepipe, fail to eject or some other malfunction. I've put about 500 rounds through this handgun with about a 5% malfunction rate. I read the specs to only use HV .22 ammo and the slowest I've run is CCI 1235fps. So far I've had the best luck with Federal 40 gr, 1240 fps., but it, too malfunctions regularly. I recently ordered 250 rounds of CCI Stinger 32 gr, 1640fps hoping that will run, but it hasn't arrived yet.
In short: Looks and feels good. Runs BAD.

Pistol cycles well and it is light and it fits most any 1911 holster.

I am loving this little gun. It's got a nice feel to it right out of the box. I have small to medium hands and the Firefly fits me like a glove. Heavy, but not too heavy. A on the ergonomics.
It's a handsome gun too, two tone finish and cool looking, CZ-ish in design. A on looks.
Now...as far as shooting goes, be patient. The gun will balk at cheap bulk boxes at the get-go (mine hated Federals) , and I never could get the factory-installed spring to shoot standard velocity. (But that was never an issue with me. If you are a standard velocity ammo person, well maybe this ain't the gun for you. Moreover, GSG does include an extra spring for standard velocity, which I've never tested out.) I broke the gun in by feeding it super-fast stuff at first (Velocitors), then kicked it down a notch to the 1230-1260 mini-mags range. After that, the gun will shoot virtually ANY hi-vel quality ammo in Bulk boxes like Winchester, Fiocchi, Blazer (in fact ANY CCI hi-vel product). After the break-in period of 250-300 rounds), A on performance.
Gun has accurate sights too.
I would recommend this gun to anyone.

Excellent product and very fast shipping

I really want to like this pistol so bad, but it makes it hard to be liked. First, Buds was great at shipping and I had no issues with my FFL dealer (DTS Tactical Moss Bluff, LA). It has an acceptable fit for me, and I have small hands for a guy. But I can see how those with bigger hands will have some issues. There's not much room inside the trigger guard when in double action. With small hands, it fits just fine, but I would have problems if I wore gloves. For bigger hands, they might find it a little more difficult. The double-action pull is also ridiculous. If I recall from my limited research, it's about a 8 pound trigger pull, but it seems like it is more. The single action is alright, but I have had better experiences with 1911s and striker fired pistols as opposed to this single action. It comes with different springs that are to be used as according to the ammo that is used. I used the lighter springs with the intention of using cheaper ammo. It did not perform well. I'm hoping I can use some higher quality ammo with this pistol and get better results. We'll see. I will say that I would not recommend this pistol to a first time shooter. It is a bit cumbersome and picky, and there are plenty of pistols out there that would be better for a first time shooter to have a better experience.

This gun is very well constructed - looks just like a Sig Sauer P226, only about 20% smaller. Very accurate. Easy to breakdown. Only word of caution i have is regarding the cycling of ammo. It is very finicky. I started with using Winchester WildCats and the gun stoved or jammed after every shot. I then polished the feed ramp, but still had the issue. I then used CCI Minimags, whiched worked perfectly. I put 100 rounds through the pipe and then switched to Winchester for another 10, and I had no issues. Later, I returned to the range and attempted the Winchester again and had a jam after every shot. I watched a BudsGunShop video on this gun and it strongly suggested putting CCI Mini Mags or comparable through the gun for a while before trying other ammo, so I am still working on getting the gun broken in to where it will use anything else.

Since I own the GSG 522SD Tactical 22LR rifle I figured this would be nice addition. Service at Bud's was awesome and there were no hiccups. Took it shooting twice and have to say my son was the one who shot it and he loves it and named it Sophie. Wish it came with 2 mags and not one as most come with 2. Had a few hiccups but it's mostly due to mag and type of rounds such as Standard vs High Velocity rounds. I would recommend it.

5/5 for me. Ran 250 remington gold tips and 250 cci and had one malfunction which i am convnced was user error (thumb hit the slide return while shooting). make sure you clean and Re Grease the pistol before shooting, looks like it has some thick cheap grease just to keep her minty on the shelf. i legit have zero negative feedback on this purchase, you wont find a better pea shooter for the price. Buds always coming through!!!

I have shot 1,000 round with a silencerco warlock2 and I am overall happy with the Firefly pistol. I did have some troubles with Winchester and federal ammo but armscor and remington thunderbolt 40 gr ammunition works great and is pretty quiet in my suppressor. Buy one!, shoot the crap out of it.

This is the first hand gun I've owned and extremely pleased with my purchase. The first time I used it I shot about 200 rounds of ammo. I didn't have any misfires using CCI Mini-Mags but I had multiple issues using 40 grain Federal Champion ammo. I read several reviews before buying this gun and knew of the issues people had with various ammo types but I was surprised at the difference between the two I mentioned. I even swapped out the spring but it made no difference. I have a few other brands of ammo I will be testing next weekend. The gun shoots smooth and accurate from 20+ feet. Bullets load easily in the magazine and it fits nicely in my hand.

When I saw the reviews on the firefly ,I was surprised.I put one on laway.After I picket it up and cleaned it I put cci blaser,cci minimag,and bulk federal through the gun with no issues at all.I purchased two spare mags and still no problems.I have the original mosquito,and it took forever to gei one brand of ammo to function.After a good clean and lube the firefly worked great. It works with a variety of ammo right out of the box.Buds has a great price.So buy and enjoy.

Had a great experience as my first time ordering from Buds. I should have read more reviews about this gun. It will only take certain high-velocity rounds. I called Buds about the problem and they only said to send back to the manufacturer. I called them and was told about the ammo. Having said all that, since I've gotten the correct ammo, the gun shoots great.

I am very pleased with the feel and the overall looks of my new pistol. Cleaned it as soon as I arrived home and was surprised by how clean it was from the factory. Have bought several other high end pistols that were down right filthy. Only fired about 300 rds through it at the range, never misfired once, did have one round get stuck in the magazine, some how the lip of the round got hung in the top of the magazine. Adjusted the mag. and no more problem. At 50 yards, put 10 round in a 3" circle. The gun could probably do better, but with my old eyes that's pretty good. I would defiantly recommend this pistol to a friend. Was surprised at it taking two weeks to get a gun from Bud's, everyone brag's on how fast Bud's gets the gun to you. Does it usually take that long to get your firearms?

Very fast shipping to my FFL. Thank You Bud's, Great 22LR hand gun, feels great in the hand and very accurate at the range when test firing. Shooting 22LR CCI tactical ammo,1200 FPS at 10 yards. No failures of any kind putting 200 rounds through. At first it Takes a few shots to get use to the long trigger take up in double action. Once you are aware of the take up there is no problem shooting as rapidly as you want. Good purchase at a good price for shooting cheap ammo.
