Very nice entry level rifle at a great price. Walnut stock was much nicer than I anticipated.

I picked this up for just over $300 earlier this year, I mean it was a steal. I was expecting it to come with some no name scope but I couldn't believe when I opened it and saw a vortex scope. Ya it's not the best but its still a $150 scope. So pretty much i paid $150 for a brand new remington 30-06 bolt gun, with hardwood stock. Ok, I'll take that any day.

After a fair amount of research, I picked up this rifle in 30-06. The walnut stock has fantastic finish, which was a major reason for me choosing it. It is not over glossy and feels solid. When mine arrived the scope had been tweeked, likely from a drop in the packaging. This was easily resolved and I hope to be sighting it in soon. Overall I would say the quality is better than I expected in this price range. Excited to see how it performs on the range.

Wow. I just bought two of these for me and my old man because we were looking for a nice, accurate, affordable 30-06 rifle. The Remington 783 delivered! This rifle is an absolutely amazing piece of quality American engineering. The Walnut Stock model is ridiculously beautiful; clean finish with an astonishing wood grain. The Vortex Scope is the most crisp I have used, and the adjustable trigger breaks like glass. Out of the box, at 50 yards I put 12 rounds in a sub-2 inch group, thanks to the scope being bore-sighted from the factory. It is important to note that I am a very novice shooter; this was the first time I had ever shot a Bolt Action 30-06, so I attribute the success to the firearm, not my own skills. I am more than pleased with this rifle and have already put 100 rounds through each in the last week. This was my first purchase from Bud's Gun Shop and I am VERY pleased. The rifles were well below retail and arrived 4 days after I ordered them. Overall, one of the easiest gun purchases I have ever made. To sum up, Remington is Great and Bud's is Fantastic.

Quality gun for the price and the 3-9x40 scope with bdc reticle is clear and very solid. Adjustments are tight so I don't see these coming loose or out of adjustment on their own. Bolt action is solid and smooth with little use so far, should only get better with use. Stock looks great for the price. There are two pins that show on the fore end but finish overall is decent. Again, for the price, this is a great combo in my opinion.
