Would be hard to beat this pistol for the price, great fit and function. Cleaned it thoroughly first and it has functioned flawlessly with several different types of ammo …hardball, hollow points of different weights and few mags of Lehigh extreme defenders. Around 200 rounds thus far with no (zero with multiple manufacturers and bullet types) failures. Great pistol, accuracy is outstanding Federal 124gr +P cut one ragged hole at 15 yards, I’m very pleased and will probably pickup another at this price. Have a few other 1911’s (various calibers and manufacturers) this is one of my favorites.

I wanted a full sized metal 9mm semi. RIA’s 1911 standard filled the search and with a low price on Bud’s. This was my first venture into center fired handguns. It is a delight to shoot. I don’t mind the single stack. I’m not going to war. The sights aren’t great. If I wasn’t so cost conscious I would have opted for the Ultra. I do have their 45 1911 Ultra and it’s fantastic. I shoot the 9 often and it’s pretty much flawless. Buy it!

It feels nice and tight, I just needed to work it with my hand a little before shooting it and it works real good, the trigger feels smooth and it came with a 10 rounds clip too!

My first 1911, even though I am a longtime deer hunter (first deer in 1960 and many, many others since), an avid pistol shooter (Walther, CZ and Springfield Armory) and CCW for 18 years. After careful and repeated research, and based upon reading many reviews of previous purchasers, I received my Rock Island Rock FS last week. As others have commented, it is shipped 'well oiled' and so the first task was to disassemble (following youtube videos) and clean / lube, after which I 'lit it up'. What a nice shooting pistol, with a good trigger. My two cents is that for the money, this is a very good choice. There are higher end 1911's out there but what I wanted was a good looking, clean shooting, reasonably priced 1911 to shoot for fun, and that is what I got. As usual, Bud's was good to deal with

To start with, shopping at Buds was one of the easiest online purchases I have ever made. Now, as far as the Rock Island 1911 Standard FS 9mm is concerned, I was like a little kid when it arrived and I could Play with it (Figure of speech). When I took it out of the plastic wrapping, it was very Oily, just like all the reviews I had read. Once it was cleaned off, the look and feel was great. The slide seemed to "Flow" when pulled back. The trigger had a very easy (Not too light) pull and was crisp. Weight was perfect for me (6'1", 225). Have been waiting for the next sunny day to take it to the range so I can't comment on the accuracy. Sights are not the best but I'm sure they will pass for now. My only complaint (Not Buds Fault) is that the gun was very Dirty when I gave it a "Pre-Test" cleaning. There were 2 empty rounds included with the gun to show that it fires but it seems like a lot of buildup for two rounds. It would be nice if it came with a second magazine as well. So far, worth the price. Highly recommend if you don't have 8,9 or 1,000 plus to spend on a 1911.

Mag shipped would not take tenth round. Found after market that would and this restored 11 round capacity. Great shooter. Others feel same.

Was delivered within 8 business days. The 1911 chambered in 9mm is a ton of fun, especially for a skinny 5"3' guy like me who can't afford or likely handle 45acp. the gun runs great. Mine came with a hard case and one, 10 round mag. The mag was not a flush mag as shown in the picture, but has an extended baseplate which is a plus in my eyes. I have about 300 rounds through it with no issues, and thoroughly cleaning after each range visit. I keep it very well lubed as other reviewers have mentioned that it likes to run very wet. Now for the only downside I have come across: the finish does scratch pretty easily. honestly with 1911s, it adds character so it is not something I mind. Overall, I love this 1911 as my first entry level 1911 platform, especially for the price.

I purchased this for my son for a graduation gift . He wasn't haappy with the plastic griops , however $20. G10 grips quickly solved that . It's a great shooter and really accurate with no recoil. You can't beat the look and feel of a 1911 and the cost of 9 mm ammo , that's a win .Thanks Buds for another great purchase , we'll be back soon I'm sure !

Great entry level 1911. Shoots like crazy. All ammo. Never jams. Quite a deal at this price. Just changed our the grips and painted the sight. Love it.

Very well built firearm. Rock island 1911’s are phenomenal pistols for the price. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a budget friendly firearm with quality far above the price. Would buy again 10/10 times. Buds was excellent as usual.

Good quality, accurate, fun to shoot pistol for a good price. No malfunctions. Not real crazy about the black target sights, but easy enough to change out.

Great firearm especially for the cost. It’s very accurate and reliable right out of the box. I did replace the front sight with a FO as my old eyes had trouble seeing the front sight. Have put 200 rounds through it without a hiccup. I highly recommend this firearm, very fun to shoot! Thanks Buds!

A well built gun, the trigger is good over all for the price it can't be beat.

This is a very good 1911 pistol in 9mm. For the money you also get many features over a GI model. Out of the box the gun had no issues at all and required no break in period. Dont let the price fool you. I would say that this pistol can outshoot many of Americas best brands in fact I would say that accuracy and function wise it is comparable to a wilson combat at a third of the price. That is my honest opinion. The Philippinos love the 1911 and it has been around in their land since WWII when colt was producing pistols for the war.

This Rock Island 1911 9mm is well built, I think it is as good as my sig scorpion 45. Shoots really smooth and had no feed jams. I would definitely recommend this pistol to others.

Great gun for the money. I had to upgrade to Dawson Presision sights because factory were shooting way low, but even after 80$ sights, it's still a great 1911 for under 600$

Very impressed with this pistol, slide to frame fit was very good, already shot 337 times no trouble at all, highly recommend Rock Island 1911.

Received my Rock Island 51632 Rock Standard FS Single 9mm Luger From Buds at my local FLL dealer and it looked great! This pistol is beautiful! I put Elk Stay grips on it although the grips it came with are really nice too! The slide is smooth as glass, great matte finish, machined very nice! Great price as always from Buds! I will only buy from Buds from this day forward!
