As always buds guns has excellent service. I have 3 of these now and am stocking up on stick mags and drum mags. They do take some getting used to, and are usually the coolest gun on the firing line. There is an aftermarket drum it works much better than the thompson oem. I had to take the thompsonon own drums to a gunsmith b 4 they would go into the gun without banging them with the palm of my hand. Aftermarket drums did not have this problem. After I got used to them they are terrific fun at the range

Bud's got them out right away, just took me a week to get with the transferring dealer to pick them up. And they are heavy. They come in a very nice plastic hard case with high quality hard foam fitted lining-also long enough to fit a drum which has a cutout. Just makes the case too long to get in a car, and I got two with a third on the way. It is very heavy but beautiful, nice walnut stock. the only thing I came across that needs addressing by Thompson is the stock reinforcing bolt is just too short to get all the threads engaged on the offside washer. When I tightened the stock screws the offside washer just fell off. I just went to the hardware store and found a longer bolt with matching threads, cut to length with a dremel-for lack of any better finish just sprayed bolt with flat black paint, also got a matching size washer to use with it-will call Thompson about this. Bolt in gun was 1.620in long and only two threads made it to offside washer, bolt needs to be at least 1.70in. When weather permits will go to range and report. Thompson only wants brass cased ammo-no steel, not even Blazer aluminum is recommended. and use of only 230gr ball. So I picked up several WallyWorld Winchester 100rd value packs. One last caution, do not pull bolt back with safety on as it can damage firing pin, you do need to read manual first- bolt must be back to insert stick or drum mag so it must be manually locked-a stiff recoil spring makes this a little tricky, then the safety can be engaged when ready to release bolt to chamber a round. range report soon
