First and last 12 gauge… this is perfect for the house and my pocket… great gun

Of all the shotguns I own this one is the one that gets the most looks and gets asked if I'd sell it the most too. It is a solid pump. Easy to clean easy to shoot, it has a nice nickel finish and has only jammed once when I fidnt clean it for 200 shells. The heat shield helps lot and the butt can hold 2 extra shells in it. It doesnt like te mini shells but that's just fine.

Patterns high- had to add a rail and red dot to hit. Gun functions perfectly.

came very well greased and ran it. no. lube or anything was shooting out the box with it..... no regrets. the nickle plating was a good choice because it feels like it is made to last

So far I am pleased with my purchase but havent had a chance to actually shoot it due to the Coronavirus shutdowns. I do love how smooth the action is tho. Hands down, smoothest action I've ever seen on a pump shotgun and I have shot hundreds of different pump shotguns from the cheapest to the most expensive. Cant wait to actually put some holes in targets when this virus is over.

Believe it or not, I prefer this over my other two 12 gauges that cost me more than double this one. Easy to handle. Easy to shoot. “The word is inexpensive— not cheap”ly made at all. Normally shotguns in this price range get wobbly over time. Not this one so far for me. I’ve Put easily over 1000 shells through it and she’s still nice and tight. Highly recommend this gun for skeet, hunting, home defense; really anything. Easy to clean, and visually appealing!

Great gun for the price smooth action shot different kinds of ammunition in it no Hangups no jams really liked nickel finish on it p but make sure you keep the nickel finish oiled up on it after use and storage

Shipped to my FFL really quick. Took is home and was cleaning it (coated in oil from factory). I took the barrel shroud off and under the clamp the nickle finish was poorly applied.It Looked really bad,I sent pictures to Rock Island and they asked me to ship it back.They replaced the shotgun. I took the replacement to the range and had nothing but trouble. Kept jamming on ejection. Also noticed that the shells would not release from the mag tube. I sent this gun back also. I am really disappointed with the M5. I will probably get rid of it when it comes back from Rock Island. Maybe try the Maverick 88. Just want a inexpensive 12 ga pump that works. This one is not it. Not for me anyway.

Gun looks good after cleaning it up. It's heavily soaked in oil when you get it. Haven't shot it yet but not bad for a budget shotgun. The 1 3/4 shells do not cycle but had no problem with the 2 3/4. Real smooth action.

Overall I enjoy this shotgun, but I will have to fire it more to really say anything on reliability.

Great gun for the money would buy another , no problems 5 boxes of cheap Walmart stuff. I will be buying the longer Mossberg tube and clamp tube that makes this a 10 shot .

Haven't used it yet but, appears to be of good quality and well constructed. Slide moves easily. Very pretty. Only complaint is that it is a little heavy for me.

I really want to love this gun. I put my first rounds through it today. 4 boxes of 7 1/2 shot, so 100 rounds. I had the bolt lock up once and two double-feeds, that is two say when I racked the pump, 2 rounds exited the tub. This obviously jammed up the gun. Being a home defense gun, I just went to load the tube up before putting it away and thought I’d try emptying the tube and see how it functioned. This time with high-brass #4’s, just using the slide release and working the pump. Well, I could only get one of the 5 shells to come out without having to manually depress the little lever at the mouth of the tube. Very sad. I hear Armscor has great customer service, so I’m gonna give them a call tomorrow and see about returning it. One positive note, when I was burning through those 100 rounds today, the heat shield worked like a champ. Surprisingly protective. And the action is as smooth as everyone says. I’ve just got to get one that feeds properly.

The rock island m5 12g exceeds all expectaions Works great right out the box . maintenance is quick And simple. This riffle is versitile and affordable.

Has become my self defense shotgun. Love the action, smoothest I have ever seen.

I have and own shotguns like Rem 1100, Citori and 870's. I wanted a reliable and good quality House gun to stand in the corner.. I have paid a lot more that $200 to be disappointed The good news is I have never seen such quality and craftsmanship in a 200.00 gun in my life. I highly recommend this gun it to all my friends. When they see it they are OMG look at this nickel shotgun

Well asked to give a review, well it's a nice looking shotgun for under $200.00. For me it will be a house gun for protection loaded with 00 buck when i decide to take it out of the box and clean that heavy packing oil loaded on it. I have a Remington 870/2 barrels for my hunting needs, if I had to choose for quality it'd pick the 870, but i do really like the looks of this one, just another add to my other 8 shotguns. Price was good was also another good reason. I will be taking my wife to the range and showing her how to use this for home protection. Can't wait to give it a run though, after buying 75 rounds of 00 buckshot.
