Excellent close in self defense weapon, the safety aspects of a double action hammer fired autoloader makes this extra safe with a round chambered. Totally reliable for protection.

I purchased this nice little S&W 380 Bodyguard pistol after handling the one my daughter in law carries. I compared it to another very popular brand and liked the Bodyguard's feel and ergo better. I am using this in a DeSantis pocket holster as a backup for my 40 S&W Shield EDC. It fits nicely in the pocket of my tactical pants, my winter coat or my mild weather vest. I live on a large lake so this pistol is always with me when I'm out in my boat fishing. It's just always there in my pocket or tackle box. Almost forget I have it...almost. its a relayable little pistol, it's magazines are small and I easily carry two spares in my left side pockets. I like it!!!

This is the perfect size to carry, barely notice that it's there, light weight, small enough to fit in your pocket. Shoot's true, has quite the kick for a small handgun.

This class of pocket pistols is intended for easy concealed carry and close range usage, and their most important attribute is dependability. I have had four S&W BG380's and have never had a malfunction with any of them including this one. This class of guns are hammer-fired and all tend to have a long and heavy trigger pull since the trigger pull cocks and releases the hammer (although the new Ruger LCP II is a significant improvement if you want a lighter trigger pull). The heavy trigger pull is not necessarily bad for the average person considering the intended usage of the gun. You may not want to carry a loaded pistol in your pocket with no safety and a hair-trigger. I highly recommend the BG380 primarily because of its dependability, not its shoot-ability.

Great like the gun. Perfect for its intended use. Shoots great, no problems. The extension magazine is more comfortable than the flush mag.

Solid gun. Is definitely better suited for people with small hands, but it's so easily concealable that I don't mind. As expected it has an extremely long trigger pull and I'll probably get the Galloway trigger kit for it at some point. Stock grips are impressive. I don't often enjoy having a safety on a firearm except on guns like this. Disengaging the safety with your thumb is so natural due to the perfect placement. I bought a Talon wallet holster and it works like a charm. Excited to break it in. Price was unbelievably cheap. I couldn't pass this up. BG380 sells for $340 in my area plus 7% sales tax. Ended up paying $300 including the FFL transfer fee through Buds. Extremely happy. I love the gun.

First regarding Bud's - outstanding, as always. About the Bodyguard - overall, it is what it is designed to be: a compact, easily concealable small caliber gun. If you have average to large hands, I definitely recommend adding the Pachmayr TACT grip glove. Two issues to be aware of - not negative, just managing expectations. The trigger pull is heavy - you really need to WANT to pull the trigger. After 50 rounds at the range, I was happy to put it away. However, not one jam or misfire. Second, the take-down and re-assembly is a bit tricky. When the manufacturer's instructions say "some wiggling of the take-down lever may be required to get it out of the frame" (page 23), and to re-insert, "wiggle it if necessary" (page 27), you know you are in for a challenge. If you are short on patience, this may not be the best choice for you. Overall, suits my needs perfectly.

Excellent gun for summer conceal carry. Worked great right out of the box. Shoots straight, feeds ammo well. Given the mission of this small gun I have no issue with the long heavy trigger. This is not a competition shooting gun. It work well, goes bang every time and works flawlessly. The sights are ok and could be improved by a little paint but this is a pull point shoot if necessary gun. It fulfills that mission very well. Thanks bud. Great service and thanks smith and Wesson.

Great service Buds....placed my order just before noon on Monday and had the gun in my hands just a tad past 1300 on Wednesday..sweet..sweet service! Went to the range this morning and put 65 rounds through it....not one failure to fire...not one failure to feed....however at about the 30 round mark the flat based mag failed to lock the slide in the open position on last shot fired...extended base mag had no problems....was a little leary about shooting such a small gun but was on target at 3, 5, 7, 10 and 15 yard mark. Continued with flat base mag but failure to lock slide open continues....overall really satisfied with this s&w mp bodyguard 380...day one absolutely no regrets!
