Beautiful rifle, Have high power scope mounted it and cant wait to take this Weatherby 338 to range this weekend and shoot at long distance. Bud's service was quick and excellent.

Great rifle so far... have only shot three rounds out of it due to my scope rings being the wrong size. With that said, I had to shot it without optics just to get a feel for the recoil. The recoil felt like a 30-06 or even 270. It surprised me a lot. I thought this 338 round would beat the hell out of me, but due to Weatherby's AccuBrake (reduces recoil up to 60-70%) it made this rifle very manageable. Going back to the scope rings, make sure you buy Talley mid-height rings. I originally had low mount rings on a 6-24 x 50 scope and it was way to low. High mounts might also be needed if you have a bigger scope than mine. Anyway, rifle looks great, feels great, and sounds even better. All I have to do is take it out now that my scope is ready to see how accurate it is. Ammo is super expensive so you definitely want to get on target immediately. Happy Shooting !
