Great service from BGS; the weapon is good in some features, subpar in others. Pros: The R25 is very accurate, and maintains its zero very well. Cons: The whole bolt carrier group was poorly machined, to the point that the groove for the retaining bolt wasn’t cut properly, and would not permit the weapon to function. To their credit, Remington replaced the whole bolt carrier group. The stock is subpar; cheap, bulky, and poorly designed.

Kinda heavy with scope and bi-pod. But deadly accurate.I have a Burris M-TAC 3.5-10 x 42 with a tactical tilt / pan bi-pod. Was gonna remove bi-pod. But, I use it (collapsed) to anchor barrel on climbing stand hand rail. Think I would like the changes made in the latest version from DPMS (long range panther)

I bought the R-25 in .308WIN specifically for hunting deer and hogs. This is my fifth firearm purchase from Bud’s. Of course, the purchase experience was good as always. From reading other reviews I knew the trigger would be less than excellent, so I replaced the stock trigger with a Geissele SSA as soon as I got the gun home. I put a lot of different premium and standard hunting ammunition through it to see what would group the best (Remington 150g PSP CoreLokt for me at about 1.5”). The gun functioned near perfectly at the range. I had a couple of FTFs. They were light strikes that only happened when I would pull the bolt back and let go to charge the firearm. It never happened when releasing the open bolt using the bolt release lever. So, I think I may be a bit soft on my release of the handle… During my hunt this year the bolt catch/release lever pin (screw) fell out. The gun still functioned and my hunt was unaffected. The release lever can’t fall out unless the upper and lower frames are separated. I called Remington on 12/31/14 and they had the part in stock and shipped it under warranty, just like they should. This will be my primary hunting gun for years to come!

Had the rifle just over a month now and I am very happy with it. I love the MOTS dip pattern and the ergonomics of the firearm fit me very well. I put a Nikon M308 scope on it and it shoots fantastic! Even with the less expensive Herter's steel case ammo I was able to shoot 1" groups & less very consistently at 100yds right away. Its definitely got some weight to it compared to my MP15 but its well worth for the additional punch it packs. I have no complaints or reservations at all about the purchase and getting the Remington rebate offer of 5 extra mags & cleaning kit for free was just icing on the cake. This was my first firearm purchase from Bud's and it wont be my last!

3 Stars for now - It arrived in what could be considered a timely manner for the current market. (2 weeks) Case is ok, and the rifle appears excellent. I'll add to the review once I get it to the range, scoped, and I'll see how it does out to 300M.

Great combo of 308 hitting power and lower weight than most AR10 platforms. The advertised trigger does not exist. It is not a crisp single stage. It is an average AR15 trigger, i.e. creepy and grittty. Its already been replaced with a 2stage National Match unit. It is accurate, functions flawlessly and is 100% Zombie certified. Yes yuo can buy the DPMS a little cheaper butthis is a good carrying weight, has a brass deflector, dust cover and forrward assist. Some say you may not need those items but the US Military wouldn't have put them on the the US issued weapons if they weren't needed. Its a good deal and doesn't weigh a freaking ton. I'm older the weight matters,

Absolutely love this rifle. I am getting less than 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards using reloads made up of winchester brass and primers, 150 grain nosler ballistic tips powered by 45 grains of Varget. Have had no problems with jamming. It is light with very little recoil. I highly recommend!!!

When the rifle arrived the shipping container was intact, there was three items in the box the rifle, the clip and the owners manual. I have been used to buying Beretta firearms where they supply a cleaning kit with the purchase. After inspection of the rifle it seems to be in working order with no cosmetic or other defects. Installed a Leupold 2.5X8 36mm scope and took it to the range. After sighting in the rifling at 100 yards using 7.62 ammo I switch to Federal 308 165 grn After 9 rounds of the federal I could not get a solid grouping with this ammo in the rifle. The other issue that came up was the bullets in the clip would slide forward enough when the action cycled through it would not pick up the next round. I called Remington support line and was told to ship the rifle back to them at their cost. The only thing that was request from me was that I pack the rifle in another container and not use the original shipping container. I purchased a DPMS magazine and that fix the feed issue with the rifle. The problem still exists with the rifle not grouping. I have tried 4 type of ammo and nothing seems to work with this rifle, plus I had DNR agent and another person shoot the rifle to make sure it was not me and both people had same result with the rifle not grouping and shoots at 50 yards and 100 yards.
