I could not be more pleased with my purchase of the Smith and Wesson model 10. I am an older man, and appreciate the strength, reliability, and smooth. trigger of the revolver. I can feel confident that when I pull the trigger, that it will go bang, and I don't have to fool with magazines.

I absolutely love this gun, it's gorgeous and it's the most reliable gun that I own! When I go to the range I can shoot this one-handed and still get extremely tight groups. I wanted this revolver for many reasons but one of the main reasons is it's lineage, also it being technically the first M&P! I do not regret my purchase in fact I encourage all revolver lovers out there to purchase it!

PROS: Classic 38 special. Great toolbox, tackle box or glove box gun. Fits in a backpack very nicely. 38 special is readily available. Simple, no fuss or muss. CONS: Not to many I guess the fact it’s a revolver might be a con to someone

My first purchase from Buds. When the plandemic first hit, you couldn't hardly find anything, but I always loved wheelguns, so when the Model 10 popped up for sale, it was sort of a no brainer considering it was endorsed by so many branches of law enforcement all over the world, not to mention its been around since WWI, which is actually pretty impressive and says a lot about the integrity of this firearm and the company that produces it. It's gorgeous, classic, timeless, simple, and functional.. it's the one that I leave out of the safe for home defense. Not exactly cheap, but worth every penny.. it's a reliable firearm, as well as a piece of Americana that I consider to be a lifelong, trustworthy companion when/if it comes to having to defend the ones I love or myself. I hope that day never has to come.

Nice sturdy revolver. The grips are nice but I replaced them with some old pachmayr grips I had and it fits better in my hand. Accurate for a .38. Would be nice if S&W offered this in the older style lighter weight barrel as the bull barrel does add some extra weight.

What can I say, the revolver is a Smith and Wesson and Smith and Wesson stands for QUALITY. Got the firearm and inspected it and it checked out to be top notch. Shot about 50 rounds through it and had no malfunctions whatsoever. Used Federal and Remington FMJ, 130g and 185g ammo. Next to no recoil due to proper grip and the revolver's heavy barrel. Haven't shot any .38 SPL +P ammo through it yet but, plan to do so in the future. The Model 10 is well balanced and highly accurate in my opinion. Follow up shots weren't a problem either. Trigger pull in SA as well as DA is great. No complaints there. This firearm will become a competition shooter and occasional fishing companion for me in the Fall. I totally understand why the Model 10 was carried by almost every Law Enforcement agency in the U.S. from the late 30s all the way up until the mid 1990s, tough and dependable. As always, Bud's came through like champs. From the day I ordered and paid for the firearm up until the day I received it at my FFL, it only took three days tops. Thanks S&W and thanks Bud's.

This was "the" handgun carried by the police, FBI, the military, etc. when I was growing up. When I learned that I could order a new one, there wasn't much of a decision to make. I also like the .38 Special and .38 Special +P cartridges to shoot and reload for two other guns I own. This gun is as good looking in the flesh as it is in the various photos at Bud's & S&W. Have had it to the range twice, and have been completely satisfied with its handling, functioning, and accuracy after 100 rounds fired. It's one of many guns I've ordered from Bud's usimg thier cash discount program, and my experience with this one was as satisfactory as all the others.

I have been looking for a used S&W Model 10-2 Bull barrel .38 revolver for awhile. I carried this weapon as a police officer for the Port Authority Police Dept. NY/NJ from 1980 until we went to 9mm autos, many years. I decided to buy a new one when I saw it on Bud's. The price was fantastic, the service and shipping was perfect and I now have a beautiful copy of what I carried during my service time. Worked 23 years for the PAPD and retired a Special Ops Sgt. after injuries received on 9/11. Thanks Bud's for the great product and great price. This is one of the most tried and true revolvers ever produced, carried and used by Police departments and military everywhere.

This is a beautiful revolver with a classic look. Simple and elegant. The trigger out of the box is quite heavy (over 13lbs), and you'll most likely want to have a trigger job done on the gun by a competent gunsmith. After having the trigger worked on, my single action trigger pull is now about 3.5 lbs and the double action pull is just over 6 lbs, which is just right for me. The sights are fixed and basic, but the accuracy is as good as the shooter. I am able to consistently hit clay targets at a distance of 10 yards, which is good enough for me. This has become one of my favorite handguns and I plan to pass it on to my son one day.

A "classic" heavy barrel 38 special revolver! The unloaded weight of this model 10 is just about three ounces lighter than the heavier L Frame, model 686 in 357 magnum with a 4" barrel. Hardly any barrel recoil while shooting FMJ 38 special loads, from the model 10 at the range other day. I also have an almost 30 year old, pre lock, 2" barrel model 10. Unfortunately, S&W discontinued that model. The 4" barrel definitely affords a bit more accuracy than the 2" version, especially at greater distances. The problem that I'm noticing is with the bluing on the cylinder facing easily strips away during cleaning. My guess is that the old reliable gun cleaning products have lost some lead cleaning power since so many products are manufactured to contain less health hazards. I found that necessitates more aggressive scrubbing to remove lead and carbon build up and unfortunately along with the removal of those, it can cause the bluing from the cylinder facing to be stripped away. This is also problematic with my 2" barrel version as well, so I don't believe S&W made any drastic changes to their bluing process. I was successful using a blue touch up pen to re-blue the bluing on the cylinder facing that had been stripped away during cleaning. I used Bud's 90 day layaway once again with complete satisfaction!
