These are basically mini mags with a flat nose and no copper jacket. The flat nose does have more of an impact rather than just penetrating like a round nose.

This is a great small game round if you're looking for deep penetration from a .22lr cartridge.
My wife's RAR Rimfire Compact loves these above every other load we have tried. Very consistent from lot-to-lot and quite clean shooting.
