I have hunted exclusively with the old model wolf for about 10 years now , and I bought this optima for my son. After shooting it for most of the day I am very pleased with it. The only complaint I have is with the new ramrod that is not threaded on both ends , so I had to replace it with one that is useful. The other issue was that the rear sight was put on backwards , not a problem to turn around correctly though. Very good shooting rifle.

Great muzzleloader, but mine came with the rear sight mounted backwards. An easy fix.

I purchased this muzzle loader for our upcoming muzzle loader deer season, I have yet to fire this rifle, but all looks and feels great. I really like the breach plug, easy to remove without tools, the sights are clear and bright (here in California, scopes are prohibited on muzzle loaders unless visually disabled) so having fiber optic sights is helpful. I will try to remember to come back and either edit or leave an updated review after I get to sight it in.

Good rifle, but the sights on it are way low. Even maxing out how high to make the sights, I got it to shooting 6in low at 75 yards. Better than the initial 20 inches low, but still, wish it performed better. Only way I got it to shoot right was with a normal scope. So, if you are planning on using the iron sights? Use a real hot load.

The CVA Optima V2 are Awesome! Easy to load and most of all easy to clean! Love the fact I can take out the breach plug with out any special tool.

This guns quality and capabilities at it's price point is terrific. In a time when you get what you pay for it's nice to see a manufacturer step it up and push expectations. This guns only flaw to me is it's rear sight. Most folks go scope anyhow but I replaced mine with a good peep sight rail and might scope it later. Great shooter. Received item very quickly. Thanks.
