I really like this shotgun, the point of aim fits me perfect, I am sighting flat down the rib, not like a typical trap gun where you see the front part of the rib. Although it's made out of the country, for the price, its right for me.

I coach a high school trap team. We were awarded a Winchester SXP Trap with a 30" barrel (and a TriStar Trinity, meh) from the Friends of the NRA grant program. When the guns arrived a few of our team members switched from their field pumps to the SXP Trap and immediately saw their averages rise 2-3 clays. My own average went up. On the patterning board, this shotgun patterns 70/30 so you are able to float the bird a bit. The raised rib, raised comb, and mid-bead/bead combo really help with gun mount and alignment. It's incredibly easy to field strip and clean. The wood is nice. Do I wish the metal was a glossy blue? Yes. It's a very utilitarian gun, but it has the features required to up your trap game (rib, comb, long barrel, good bead alignment). So far, our team gun has cycled 3,000 rounds through it without a hiccup and using only a bore badger and an occasional wipedown for cleaning. We'll do a better job of more thorough cleanings next fall. Do I like it? Yes! I just bought one for myself with a 32" barrel from Bud's and in my opinion it balances even better than the 30". I often shoot with the team members, especially as they prepare for Nationals - this morning I shot a round with the SXP Trap and another with a Citori 725. I shot 21 with both (I never said I was great), but for me the SXP was more comfortable and I was able to mount consistently. If you are wondering whether you should pick one of these up for your team, or if you are just getting into trap, or heck if you have been shooting it for a while, you need to pick one of these up! In my opinion, it's an incredible value for the features it has.

I needed a shotgun for trap and I seen this Winchester SXP Trap and for the price why not but then I got it home I was like it's a nice shotgun and it shot even better the only thing is I wish Winchester would put better front sight on it but it's a nice gun

Solid, yet light! Love the rotary bolt, look, and feel of this trap shooter. Took it out and shot some sporting clays out here in Missouri and with a pump; it's a lot of fun!

Love it very fast loading

I love this shotgun! The Monte Carlo stock fits better than guns that cost 5 times as much that I used to rent at the range. My first 5 shots on the wobble trap range completely obliterated the clays! I would recommend this shotgun for anyone who wants to get into the trap/skeet/wobble game without breaking the bank. Kudos to Winchester for producing a shotgun designed specifically for this sport! --Robert H.

Hadn't shot clays in 25 years... got this because of the great price and was pleasantly suprised. Hit 90% of my targets in the first 4 rounds of trap. Very happy with it!

I just recently bought the windchester sxp tarp and Im extremely happy with the gun! I shoot trap weekly and this gun doesnt miss. I shoot with guys that have some high dollar guns and they all had good things to say about the sxp. I would recommend this gun to anyone who is not looking to spend alot and still get a great shooter.

The 32" barrel makes it a little heavy on the front end. After 20 rounds the spent shell jammed in the ejector. It was an easy fix. Have put a total of 100 round thru it with only the one miner issue. Good buy for the money.

Compared to a tactical shotgun, it is long. HBe careful, it's easy to put into a door, wall, etc. So I took it out to my local Clays Range. I shot 75 3.75" rounds. It performed flawlessly. I was able to hit most targets and I am not an experienced clay shooter. The sights were dead on, floated the clay above the post, hit. Considering that the next level is $1200 plus, I'd say I made the right choice and saved a lot of bucks. Thanks Buds!

Not the gun I expected. I got the 32" barrel version. I patterned the gun and it shot low. A trap gun should shoot high so you can float the bird. I have 2 boxes of shells through this gun and have never shot so bad. I am not used to burning the bird in the barrel. I literally shot 18 out of 50. Then I patterned the gun and now know I was shooting under every bird because I was floating the bird like a trap gun should be! I also noticed after the first few shots that the wooden fore grip was already starting to rub the finish off of the receiver. I did look the gun over and it was ok when I bought it. To me the fit is pretty darn good it's the finish that is lacking. The action seemed tight and gritty but after a good cleaning it seems to have loosened up and the gun never missed a beat while shooting. No misfires or failure to feed. Buds was great! ordered the gun on Thursday and had it in hand the following Friday.

great shotgun and bud was fast getting it out the door. took all my reloads and shot great on clays. really a good buy and well made. thanks bud.

Good shotgun for the money don't really like the flat finish they put on the gun. All in all it takes out clay birds really good.
