PTR Industries PTR-91 MSG .308 Win Semi Auto Rifle

The PTR-91 MSG Semi Automatic Rifle features a 18" match grade fluted and threaded bull barrel, a welded picatinny top rail and a tactical polymer handguard with a single 6" bottom rail. It has a navy type HK polymer trigger group housing, a removable flash hider, and a Magpul PRS2 adjustable stock. This is set up to be a medium to long range shooter with a Harris Bi-Pod and adapter included. I've wanted one of these for years. So when I saw it in stock back in October I jumped on it. It has been a disappointment honestly. A costly one. The trigger is beyond bad. For a rifle that is supposed to be geared toward accuracy, and not so much a battle rifle it is very sad. Especially at this price point. Replaced the trigger with a Bill Springfield tuned trigger pack, Marginal improvement. Still very bad. Over 8-9lbs easily. Accuracy very sub par. Extremely inconsistent with many different types of match ammo used. (Federal gold medal match, Prime, Hornady to name a few) 2" groups and up at 100 yards with a very inconsistent spread. For $1500 this is absolutely unacceptable. If it was the G.I model that would be one thing. Build quality is very good. Solid, great finish. But terrible performance. So for anyone who wanted to try and actually shoot this at distance accurately look elsewhere. If you just love the look and shoot from the bench once or twice a year go for it I guess.
