Originally I really wanted an all black or walnut stock version of this, but the Mossberg store convinced me since one can change everything but the receiver so the important thing to me was having a semi-automatic shotgun with a 3.5 inch chamber that can shoot heavy game shells. I freaked a little after finding info online and many videos stating that this shotgun won't cycle 2 3/4 shells, and that is simply NOT true. It says it right on the barrel, 2 3/4, 3 and 3 1/2 shells, with the caveat that the 2 3/4 shells should be 1 1/4oz or heavier if you read the manual like everyone should. I had a bunch of RIO #5 shot in 2 3/4 that cycled 100% in the Mossberg 935 but has issues with my pump Winchester SXP.
This shotgun is a beast, I love this beast of a shotgun. I have already upgraded the stock and forearm, and expanded the shell capacity to 8+1.
I won't lie and say that 3 and 3 1/2 shells don't kick, they kick like an angry mule but this shotgun handles them with ease.
If you are looking for a great magnum shotgun, look no further than the Mossberg 935.
