Very good product highly recommend,dependable with no problems what so ever

This is a beautiful chrome pistol. The reason it only gets four stars is that the manual states on the cover that use of P ammo voids the warranty. Yet some sources state that U.S. manufactured ammunition is routinely head-stamped 38 Super P to further distinguished this from 38 ACP. One other note on this pistol is the barrel bushing. To say it is a tight fit is an understatement. The manual recommended using a bushing wrench. I found it near impossible to not use one unless you don't care about the finish. The pistol came with one Metalform blued magazine. I purchased two more stainless Metalform mags and one Springfield stainless magazine. They all performed as expected as I fired 50 rounds without any malfunctions or issues. It is a great gun, the only issue being the P ammo prohibition.

This review is not aimed at "Buds", was extremely happy with their pricing, shipping, and selection on their website. The Iver Johnson .38 super is another matter...This was purchased by my wife. The pistol is in fact completely worthless, we didn't even get through a box of ammo. After every shot there was an FTE. Trying to field-strip we encountered more problems, barrel bushing too tight, doesn't want to rotate. And, after all is said and done, the slide doesn't even come off the frame!! (We been taking apart 1911's a while now, never experienced any thing like this.) So it goes back for warranty work....Right? Wrong, have not received a call back from Iver Johnson, (there is no live human being to talk to at this number, just a recording!) I will probably bring it to a gunsmith here in town, we are just gutted, a handgun is supposed to protect your life, it's designed to work every time, out of the box, right? Probably just picked up a lemon, made on Monday sort of thing. Won't ever buy another....Buds, stellar...Iver, pond scum

This is the 6th gun I have ordered from Bud's. As with all of my orders everything was seamless from order to receipt! This Iver Johnson 38 Super is really nice. Frame to slide fit is tight. Finish is beautiful. Good sights. Handsome grips. Really nice trigger. Photos do not do it justice. A manufacturer of custom 1911's that he sells for $3,500 up saw it when it came in and was totally impressed by the fit and finish and couldn't believe the modest price. As usual, my Bud's Team was very helpful with this order. This was the first time I did a trade, and it went smoothly with a fair offer for my trade-in.
