I like the brushed stainless finish, but this one is also noted as "CA Compliant." What's that mean as far as revolvers go?

Robert, nothing special othe ryhan it has been submitted by S&W and has passed all CA requirements. Revolvers are easier to certify than Semi-Auto's. Here is the CA DOJ approved list for S&W : https://www.oag.ca.gov/firearms/certified-handguns/search?make=151003 --------- Many manufacturer's have given up on CA's madness and there are a ton of firearms that have since been removed as attested here : https://www.oag.ca.gov/sites/oag.ca.gov/files/pdfs/firearms/removed.pdf

Colt paid the CA Blackmail fee to have it be legal in CA

Robert, The short answer is that Colt paid for it to be tested and certified by the california DOJ. Look up california Code of Regulations, title 11, section 4070 for more details on the requirements imposed.

First colt hand gun i have purchased & the very first reg.38 spl., I have s&w and ruger al in 357mag. Just be sure if you buy one you are use good ammo, Cause if you don"t it will miss fire !!!!! Ihave NEVER had any problems with my S&W or my RUGERS. I would NOT buy again!!!!!.Good luck to you if you buy one.
