no they do not stack well by themselves the top handle gets in the way I make a row of them then put a 1x2 board across the front and back of the handle then stack the next row

Yes. (There is an indent on the bottom to sit over the handle of the bottom can) The mil-spec ammo-cans are tough, steel constructed and 100% brand new. Great for storing ammunition or other items. Very well packaged. Each was in its own box, and the four were then in a larger box. The paint is excellent, inside and out. The handles are very stiff. I expect they will loosen with use. The lids don't seem to be intercangeable, but leave them on their original box and I see no problem. The seals appear very good and a bit of force is needed to close the lid. They is a strong smell from the seals when the box is opened. From the new seals, I expect. I am very pleased with these cans. They do what the plastic cans can never do with heavy things in them (bullets), and they seal them safely from air and water. and they are new. Shipping adds five dollars per box, but I can live with that for new 30 cal cans.
