This is nice reliable bolt action. My first firearm in .270. I hope to use this to hunt hogs one day. The action is not as smooth as CZ which make up a majority of my centerfire bolt-action rifles but it seems effective in hitting the target

Upon receiving this gun, I was both impressed and disappointed all at the same time! The walnut stock is beautiful and has a great blued barrel. However when they shipped this item, they left the bolt flopping around In the box. There are nicks and scratched on the barrel and a big chunk of the forearm missing. The shipping and handling is what really caused these problems I assume... The gun is definelty worth the money, just beware of the package and handling issues.

Cannot tell you how pleased I am with the accuracy and looks of this rifle for the money. It's nicely blued and metal fit is good. I dropped it into a B&C stock for hunting, and with Remington 130g PSP Core -Lokts was shooting 1/2 groups at 100 Yards. Also, the stock that comes on it will need a couple of coats of sealer to bring out the grain. I used 2 coats Tung-Oil to shine it up a tad. As always, thanks Bud's for a smooth transaction and fast shipping to my FFL

I am greatly impressed with the rifle. Will remove the cheek rest sometime this winter. Rifle was sighted in already. Shot in the dirt and then shot three times at a coffee can 240 yards away, hit each shot. Will use the iron sights for hunting, May put a scope on it for caribou hunting. Pretty awesome rifle for the money.

I Disappointed with the quality of the product. When I received it, the wooden stock had pain on it. I promptly refused acceptance of the rifle. I then notified Bud for a full refund request.

The firearm is excellent. I havent the chance to shoot it yet. The action is smooth. the stock good and solid. Its a steal for 373.00 dollars. i think it is almost equal in quality to a winchester model 70, its close. I will be buying a second one. The bolt handle is smooth on top and knurled on bottom, its the little things like that. it does have manual sights as shown and also has drilled and tapped spots for a scope mount.

Every bit worth the money. Maybe $410 when all was said and done. The old state arsenal in Kragujevac has been making mauser rifles since the 1920s and they still do it quite well. Better than anyone else for the money actually. I bought my dad a CZ 557 from Buds and for almost $200 more the CZ arrived with a plastic trigger guard and a trigger made of some crappy metal. The zastava M70 is made from hammer forged steel and walnut. If you're thinking about buying american to save a little money on a production sporting rifle, do think twice before you pay that money for a receiver that starts out as a casting and a barrel that's probably not even drilled straight, let alone hammer forged. This rifle has a real Mauser 98 bolt and a nice safety, as well as a very nicely fitted checkered steel push button release mounted on the right side of the trigger guard. My only complaint, the barrel channel would be very nicely free floated if it had 10 more minutes of work but into it at the factory. It's going to take me 20-30min now. But everything else is perfect and gorgeous, and it's what my dad deserves. Don't give it a second thought just buy it.

Buds layaways was great, shipping and order process was great. The rifle is just what I wanted, made like a Winchester Model 70 but a quarter of the price. You get a lot of rifle for just $373.00. Bluing is very deep and everything functioned perfectly, very pleased. Open sites were accurate.
