The HK45 Compact is well-suited for personal defense use, and it has a DA/SA trigger system with a safety/decocking lever on the left side. The HK45C features a "slim-line" grip, shorter barrel and slide than the standard HK45, but it is otherwise functionally identical to the standard HK45. The HK45C can be fitted with a threaded barrel for use with a muzzle-mounted sound suppressor. The internal mechanical recoil reduction system reduces the recoil forces imparted to the weapon and shooter by as much as 30%, improving shooter control during rapid firing and increasing component service life. This pistol features a MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail, ambidextrous controls with dual slide releases, enlarged magazine release, low profile drift-adjustable 3-dot sights, polygonal rifling for longer barrel life and increased accuracy, and two magazines.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this weapon as much as my USP 45 Compact but I must say I'm impressed. The ergonomics are significantly better and the interchangeable back straps really set this gun off for me due to my smaller hands. You could say I've put this gun through the gauntlet and I certainly have not been easy on it. It hasn't failed me once. Typical HK quality this piece is rugged and reliable. My only criticism of this weapon is the trigger. The double action is usable but nothing to write home about. I'm on the fence with converting it over to LEM. After shooting it over the last couple of years the trigger did smooth out significantly but it is still ridiculously heavy on double action. However as I said it's most certainly usable. Otherwise it's a fantastic weapon and even despite the heavy double action I still have no problem holding 3-in groups with it at 25 yards as long as I do my part. It would be nice if they do something with this trigger though from the factory.

The HK is a cut above the pack. Excellent ergonomics, highly reliable, over built all describe what you get with HK. Bud’s was excellent as always.

I really like the double action as opposed to the striker fired platform. I have a few 1911's and a Sig P320 compact 45 but really wanted a double action 45. I think this is the best example of that type of handgun. It's well balanced and shoots straight. I wanted this as a carry weapon because the 1911 is just to big for me now days to carry daily. I really like the Sig too but striker fired pistols are just not the same to me. They are both about the same size even though the Sig looks bigger. It is just a little bigger in the slide shape and front trigger guard, but it is 3 oz. lighter than the HK. The HK will fit in the Sig P320 holsters. I have 3 holsters for the Sig two leather and one Kydex.and the HK fits in both leather ones fine, but is a little loose in the Kydex. I just got a Vedder Kydex Light Draw holster for the Hk 45c and it fits perfect. I think a leather holster for the Sig P320 45 compact should work with the HK 45c if it's one of those holsters that will fit multiple pistols. This is a very good pistol and the recoil pushes straight back with out as much muzzle rise as other compact 45 pistols I've shot. In this case, you do get what you pay for. Can not say one bad thing about this pistol, it just works and looks and feel right!

One of my favorite concealed carry weapons. Combines capacity, firepower, and easily concealed.

This SKU/model comes with a blacked-out serated rear sight, and photo luminescent front sight. While I wasn't sure how I'd like this setup, it has grown on me. The trigger is phenomenal for comparable DA/SA pistols. The HK recoil reduction system makes this very manageable to shoot. The grip is very comfortable, and the size makes this a great EDC option.

Before deciding on the HK45C, I shot several Glocks and the S&W M&P45. The SIG P220 is nice, too, but the bore axis is super high, no agencies use it anymore, and I wasn't interested in an aluminum frame, anyway. Glocks are great guns and used by many agencies and militaries, but the grip is just too big, and I can't shoot the large frame Glocks well, even the SF versions. The SW MP45 is a very nice shooter, with great sights and trigger, just no one uses it (especially the 45 version). Recently, the LAPD traded in their S&W's for FN 509's. Luckily the HK45C fits my hand well, has a good 5# trigger with a short reset, and on half cock the DA pull is a smooth uniform 10lbs. The recoil is mild, and it it shoots 230 gr RN ammo like a sewing machine. Not only that, the workmanship and fit & finish are better than any other non-1911 I looked at. Last & not least my gun was made in Columbus, GA, just a few hours from where I live. I have to say that was a nice touch.

Like the gun. Buds not so much. Tried to buy a gun that was QP. They say veterans are QP. But they say my discharge was more than 10 years ago. So, a private security guard is a QP but a Vietnam war combat vet, with 2 tours isn't. Go figure.

This was my first purchase of a firearm online, and with buds. I was nervous about how the process worked. I must say, it was super smooth, easy, and got me hooked. I have since ordered multiple products with no issues. I learned about buds from hickok45. The HK45C, arrived brand new and was perfect. The softest shooting .45 I have ever shot. The recoil is more like a 9mm. The HK45C is a great firearm and I highly recommend it.

A:cristian, this has a standard hk 45 trigger with a 4.5 pound single action trigger pull. Because the safety/decocking lever deactivates the trigger that is what makes it MA compliant. Hope this helps and you're very welcome.See 2 more answers | -

A:Jeffrey, yes Sir. Most manufacturers including H&K make firearm packages that have 10rd magazines so their pistols can also be sold in state that have magazine capacity restrictions. The pistols are exactly the same but just have 10rd mags included. The pistols will also accept any standard capacity magazines just fine. -

A:I find at least two more HK 45 compact models with a 3.8" barrel. Both are apparently the Law Enforcement models. All are single/double actions. Both the others seem to have night sights, where this one does not. Can't say for sure about any more specific difference as I'm not sure which one you are talking about ..See 2 more answers | -
