I expected a rubberized texture, but it's a hard plastic. Other than that, it's very comfy and sturdy.
I installed it on a .300 BLK to help me distinguish between it and a similar 5.56 that I own, so that I can tell the difference in the darkness of night.
Be sure you have a LONG 3/16" Allen/Hex tool for installation.
Don't forget that there is a safety detent and spring on the right side when replacing original pistol grip!
