Outstanding quality throughout and dead accurate. Also easy to clean and easy to zero. I used a Trybe red dot first and then an Aimpoint Duty RDS. Both got there at 100 yards no problem with 168 Grain S&B. The Magtech 147 Grain lived up to its reviews of not being terribly accurate though it shot okay. The magazine is tough to insert until you get used to it. Springfield and Checkmate mags work equally well. The weapon is also heavy at 9 pounds, but gets lighter by week as you become acclimated. A really fine rifle and an absolute must for those wanting a legitimate part of our heritage from WW2.

Great rifle, that fires the powerful 308 cartridge, 4 stars and not 5 is because this thing is a tank which means it's heavy, great for recoil management because when carrying around you will definitely notice the weight. But overall a great rifle.

Hits like a hammer and has eaten everything I put in it. Buds got it to me quick, along with the ammo I been feeding it.

Shoot this next to an AR-10 and you can tell the difference in sound. When an AR-10 fires, it says, "POW . .. POW". When a M1A SOCOM CQB fires, it clearly says, "Don't mess with me .. . . Don't mess with me". Such a great feeling rifle.

My SOCOM 16 CQB arrived and I picked it up from my FFL shop. I had been enjoying a reunion with my ARs and then saw this M1A version was back in stock. Having a standard M1A and an M1A Scout… it seemed only logical to complete the family with this version. The folding stock is nice, but hard to imagine placing rounds efficiently firing from the hip or tucked into the ribs. With that said, the short wingspan of a collapsed stock could prove handy in tight spaces. Fully extended stock and a firm shoulder placement yield good accuracy at short and medium distances. 7.62 is a heavy hitting round. I think my AR will remain at the ready for home defense while the SOCOM CQB will be the back-up for a “rainy” day. Thank you to Buds Gins for efficient messaging on order status and prompt delivery.

Overall great rifle. Met my expectations. Will recommend it in the future. Only complaint, sights are not adjusted correctly. Shoots extremely high. Will contact Springfield Armory. Had several individuals try to zero the weapon at 25 yards (using a 100 and 200 yards target offset-meaning it would be zeroed at 100 or 200 yards respectively, still shot very high, almost 12 inches.) Overall, knowing Springfield Armory, I think this is a minor issue and they will work with me to rectify the situation. Thanks again for making such a great rifle, from a fellow Illinoinian, near Peoria, IL.
PS: there was a wear spot on my M1A soft case that came with the wpn, replaced it with no questions asked, now THAT is good customer service!!!!!!

This is a Great firearm love shooting it.

When it arrived I knew I had made the right decision from the moment I got to hold it the lightweight 16” barrel and adjustable stock makes it a breeze to hold. Shooting is another marvel, the end has a comparator on it and the sight are easy to line up. The rush of the 308 and the sounds of the gun dominate where ever you chose to shoot

Purchased an item (Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM CQB .308) for which I’ve been saving for almost two years. Was able to buy it sooner than expected because Buds has it for less than any other way place in the nation! Transferred thru a local gun shop (Son of a Gun LLC in East Tennessee) and the operation between Buds and the shop was fast and seamless. Awesome all the way around. I feel every American should have this rifle! This is one of the best 308 rifles you can get. It comes with a copy of it's original manual. There is so much history behind this rifle and it won't disappoint you shooting that. I promise you! It takes 5 working days that buds send you the gun. I am not sure what is the rationale behind that but it is their role. Except the 5-day role, the services and prices of buds are unbeatable. At least I don't know any better place to buy online firearms.

There was confusion on how the process works with e-check, but other than that it's worth the money. The ballistic case the rifle came with is very nice an looks like it will last a long time. The CQB itself is great, went an shot it for the first time today. At 200 yards with iron sights, you can't beat it. People that where shooting came down an looked to see what I was shooting. Great product an will be going back to Buds for some other firearms.
