I love my Pittbull .380. I had asked for this from my husband for either my birthday or Christmas and he passed away in September. I purchased this as a memory of him but it has fast become my go to for concealed carry. There is a learning curve in learning how to use it but I truly love it.

Pistol is extremely hard to load. You have to force the rounds into the cylender. Ejecter would leave to shells in the cylender. Purchased the pistol for my wife. she is unable to force all rounds into the cylender. Would not recomend that you buy this pistol.

I like the weight and feel of this revolver. I had one chamber that was a little difficult to load the cartridge.

First of all, it is not a 2.2" barrel, it is a 3" barrel. A lot of people say a snub nosed 38 special revolver is "Snappy". For all of those people I would highly recommend the Charter Arms Pitbull .380. You get six shots instead of five and the recoil is negligible. My Pitbull shoots great with any .380 ammo. I can fire double action rapid fire and keep a tight enough group for social work. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and Bud's did a great job getting it to me. They have not developed a way to "speed load" this revolver yet but the empty casings do eject well. I give this revolver 5 stars not because it's the same quality as a KImber but because it works just like it is supposed to work.

Out of 3 boxes of Blazer Brass, Monarch, Federal, I could never get all 6 rounds to fire. Tried same ammo in 2 lcp II's with no fail to fire. Never had a revolver ever come close to
so many fails to fire. Gun is very accurate and a pleasure to shoot, when it does decide to shoot. I don't know if I will go to the trouble to send it back to CA or just give up on it.
There was no particular chamber that misfired, just random light primer strikes. Firing pin appeared free and smooth like a floating pin should. I am no gunsmith but my guess is
that the entire cylinder is floating slightly inside the frame and the firing pin is just a little too short.

I should have looked more closely at this revolver at the FFL dealer and returned it to Buds. The barrel is so misalligned that it cannot be safely fired and 2 of the 6 practice rounds I tried out in the cylinder consitently failed to eject. I have several other Charter Arms revolvers from years ago and they are fine. I think Charter Arms is now shipping every gun out as fast as it can to take advantage of the current gun shortage. Their quality control is gone, otherwise this gun would not have been shipped out for sale. It had not been test fired either. I will not purchase another Charter Arms product and I caution others to beware of poor quality. This revolver has been returned to Charter for repair or replacement.

A:Hi Shannondoah and welcome. It is much thinner than the Taurus 856. The 380 Pitbull weighs 26 oz. and the overall length is 7.6″. The height is 5″ and width at the cylinder is 1.03″. Barrel length is 3″ and the cylinder holds six rounds. The Taurus 856 is 1.41 inches wide at the cylinder. Cheers and stay safe! -

A:Ben, Charter Arms and Taurus inexpensive revolvers are even in my opinion. Either would work just fine for your wife's purposes.
