Today Ruger is proud to introduce the LCP® II chambered in .22 LR. This new, low-recoiling Lite Rack™ pistol features an easy-to-manipulate slide that shoots comfortably regardless of hand size or strength.

The .22 LR LCP II incorporates Ruger's new Lite Rack system, which allows for easy slide manipulation. The Lite Rack system includes refined slide serrations, pronounced cocking ears and a lighter recoil spring. Combined, these features ease the burden of cycling a pistol slide by hand. Pistols equipped with the Lite Rack system are ideally suited for new shooters, those who struggle with racking traditional slides and anyone looking to enjoy a day at the range. Whether used as a training tool for an existing LCP or LCP II or as a concealed carry option, the low-recoiling Lite Rack LCP II in .22 LR allows shooters to operate, train with and use their pistol with confidence.

Optimized to function with high-velocity ammunition, this new pistol features a tilt-barrel, blowback semi-automatic action, which aids in feeding for reliable function. With a patent-pending floorplate assembly, the magazine offers a very compact 10+1 capacity, extends the grip for improved control and retains the LCP II's popular last-round hold open function.

The LCP II in .22 LR features a first-ever manual safety, making this a great training option for new shooters or those who prefer a manual safety option. Positioned on the left side of the frame, the safety is oriented in a push-forward-to-fire configuration that is instinctive and unobtrusive. A magazine disconnect ensures that the gun cannot fire with the magazine removed, yet still allows the magazine to drop free. In addition to one, 10-round magazine, this pistol also ships with a magazine loader.

Exactly what I was looking for. 22 cal. Something I could carry and shot on a regular basis. Wife likes it also so makes it even better. Easy racking. Good for what I wanted it for.

I first fired one of these tiny 22's in the Buds range rental program in Sevierville and have been looking for one ever since. When they popped up on Bud's internet site I didn't hesitate a second. My LCP has completely lived up to my very high expectations. Where else are you going to find a 22 that disappears in your Levi hip pocket and shoots 2 inch groups at 15 yards? (Off hand with a 77 year old shooter.). It's been 100% reliable with CCI high velocity ammo.

The fit and finish are great. I did have the issue of accidentally setting the safety when racking the slide. I like the gun though. Ruger is one of my go to guns when I want it to work every time. I did test some different ammo through it and had no trouble with anything round nose. I had some Winchester hyper velocity rounds with a large hollow point that had more of a square node those did not feed well. I switched back to federal 36 grain cphp and had no further problems. I would say stay away from rounds that are more square shape and you should be fine. I now use the winchesters in my .22 LCR revolver which of course eats everything.

So far I'm happy with the overall quality. I have not taken it to the range yet, but I can say the trigger feels good, the slide was stiff until I worked it a few times, and the finish looks durable. The manual safety interferes with my hand when I grasp the slide to load a round, and it's sharp. The slide serrations seem a little sharp as well. It does look like actually firing the gun should be as comfortable as shooting something this small can be.

Perfect for my wife's small hands. Cycled 150 of various ammo with no misfire.

I had too many failures in my first range session (even after cleaning and application of gun oil), but after polishing the teeny loading ramp and more use, I'm happy with the reliability. It's 100% with CCI MiniMag and tactical, as well as Armscor. It's 95% with Winchester Wildcat and Federal bulk (both 10 years old). The gun is top-grade as far as design and manufacture. The slide is somewhat more "lite" than on my LCP .380, but not dramatically. The safety is ideal (if you must have one). A video reviewer said that he kept accidentally setting the safety to safe when racking the slide, but I couldn't reproduce that problem (maybe my hands aren't big and muffiny ehough). The magazine settles in with a positive click, unlike others. The sights are fine -- even a duffer like me can get 50 rounds onto a 10" x 10" square at 7 or 8 yards without trouble. Trigger's good, especially compared with that on my LCR .22, which I sold. The mag loader thingy is useless in my hands; easier just to keep pushing them in, trying to avoid the knife edges at the top of the mag. Easy take-down and reassembly. A good trainer for an LCP in .380? I don't think so. After firing the first round from the latter, someone trained on the .22 would be thrown off markedly, if not totally. Good for self defense? A president almost died from a .22 round that had bounced off a bullet-proof window before hitting him. One little girl drove off home invaders by threatening them with her pink, single-shot .22 rifle. The chances that 10-30 rounds of .22, well aimed, would not end a threat are mighty slim.

one hell of a gun-- shoots anything i put through it-- i was worried because they recommend high velocity only but this thing shoots standard, match and high velocity-- pretty accurate to for the size

I purchased the LCP II in .22LR in April. On my first time at the range with this firearm I was not able to run one magazine without a failure to feed, failure to fire, or failure to eject. I tried Winchester Super X, Winchester Varmint, Remington, and Aguila ammunition. The same problem with all of these. I called Ruger Customer service, and they had me send the firearm back to them. After a few days they called me to say there was no problem with the firearm. They had fired forty (40) rounds of CCI Mini Mag without a malfunction. I borrowed some CCI Mini Mags and tried them at the range. The first two magazines had similar problems. I tried the failure to fire ammo in my Ruger Mark II Competition, and they all fired with no problem. At the end of the 100 round session I was able to run two full magazines without failure. In all of Ruger's literature and user manuals there is no mention that you must use CCI Mini Mags for the firearm to function. I am a big fan of Ruger, but this firearm is a total disappointment.

Bought gun for my wife as its easy to Rack. Gun will Jam on about every third shot , not sure if its the cheap ammo they sell now or the gun< dont have the problem with my Ruger 22/45 so its probably the gun maybe it will work better once we get enough shots through it.
