No, this model is Not optics ready. I'd never use a dovetail adapter. Personally, I'd just send the slide out to get milled for whatever optic you want.

Does this model have any type of safety?

Fransisco, this does not have a manual thumb safety. This has a trigger blade safety, so you have to put constant pressure on the trigger to be able to pull it. It also has an internal drop safety so if there's a round in the chamber and you accidentally drop it, it won't accidentally fire. I have this exact same pistol but in a different color and they're fantastic pistols, great triggers, very reliable and extremely accurate. Would highly recommend one. Hope this helps.

Trigger bar safety (trigger dingus) and drop safety only, these are both passive safeties, there is no manual safety on this pistol

For under 400 i wasnt expecting much but this is a fantastic pistol that shoots as well as models teice the price in my opinion.not to mention Buds making the purchase really easy

Bought this as my first handgun and boy was not disappointed. Runs flawlessly with any ammo I've put into it. This gun just feels like a high end pistol with an inexpensive price tag. Bud's layaway program and their customer service is a big plus for firearm purchases.

I was very reluctant to purchase this gun because Canik doesn't have a long history on the U.S. market and I was wondering if it was a reliable handgun. While my sample size is very small, I was very impressed with the TP9SF Elite when I shot it our the box/case. The gun was accurate, I used 124 grain FMJ range ammo and the gun performed flawlessly. Mind you, I'm use to shooting CZ's, HK's, Sig's and Walther firearms so I accustom to quality firearms; this Canik was on par with my other guns. I'm not going to call it a Glock killer or that it's better than my other guns but it was a pleasant surprise and I look forward to spending more time with it at the range.
If you're looking at a budget friendly gun and it's between the Canik and one of the other less expensive options, the Canik would be my clear cut choice.
I'm giving it 5 stars because it performed above my expectations and I had no issues firing the handgun, it's that simple.
