This a great little shotgun. Also a good choice for some 1st gun training for the grandchildren .

Nice quality firearms. Only problem I have is it won't extract a long brass shell like Federal. Winchester AA work well.

I bought this Charles Daly .410 (model 101) for my grandson's (and granddaughter) to shoot out at the ranch. We had an old .410 but my wife's no good brother "borrowed it" and never returned it. Anyway the gun shoots great and appears to be of excellent quality. I really like the walnut checkered stock, you just can't beat real wood on a gun. The ONLY problem with this gun is the break action release. It's located just in front of the trigger guard and extends down just like a trigger. You have to pull this release to break the shotgun. But let me tell you it is a really heavy pull to break the shotgun. The grandson's have not mastered it yet. I hope they can or I'll have to buy a new 410 that they can actually load and shoot. The break release trigger thing pulls back a ways kinda easy but then you really have to give it a good pull to get it to release the action. Why, why, why did they design it like this. Just keep it with the old thumb release on the side of the breach like it's always been. Anyway I would've given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the "trigger" break release function. Also I like the way the little shotgun folds almost in half for easy storage or putting in a backpack. But fix the break release, please.
