it is Illinois legal. and will be fine for Occasional target shooting. It would not hold up to serious target shooting I shoot 15,000 targets a year

With this being an inertia shotgun will it kick harder than a gas-operated shotgun?

Hi James, Gas guns will produce less felt recoil than inertia guns. Inertia guns need the gun itself to recoil hard in order to operate the action. Gas-operated shotguns use the excess gases from the fired round to cycle the action and chamber the next shell. They typically have less felt recoil due to the gas system absorbing and redirecting part of the recoil energy. Stay safe & have a great day!

Hi James and welcome. Gas Operated shotguns of the same caliber and similar weight will recoil less as about 15% of the gas pressure produced is used to cycle the action. yes (all other factors being equal) it will as the gas gun bleeds of pressure to operate. but weight and fit of the gun will change recoil even more

no problem with slugs or buckshot use Foster Rifled sligs with IC or mod chokes for best accuracy

Yes, Buckshot through all chokes no problem. Now for slugs you'll need Foster Rifled slugs & Do Not fire using a Full Choke!

Hi Ricky, yes sir, you can shoot both slugs and buckshot. The comes with 3 choke tubes, Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. You will get best results with slugs through the IC choke tube (do not shoot slugs through full choke) Stay safe & have a great day!
