• Q: Is this 922r compliant as configured or will I need to make modifications for it to be compliant?

  From the factory yes, it is compliant. 922(r) is relevant only if you start making changes like increasing the magazine capacity or switching out the recoil tube for the one with multiple stock positions instead of the fixed single position this comes with. I have one of these and swapped both the magazine tube and recoil tube. For USA made 922(r) parts I have aftermarket trigger guard, handguard, magazine follower, and the magazine tube.

• Q: Does this shoot slugs? I believe I read this has a fixed modified choke is that the case and if so does Benelli recommend using rifled slugs or not.

  It'll shoot rifled and non rifled slugs, but you'll get best accuracy with rifled slugs

  Brian, I would not hesitate on this trade from the M3 Super 90 to the Benelli M1014. I don't have the Benelli M1014 but do have an M4 and the build quality is excellent. Benelli is a world class Shotgun maker. Cheers and stay safe!

A semi-automatic shotgun with​ either​ a magazine capacity exceeding six rounds, a folding stock or a pistol grip is restricted in NJ.   Joseph, The skeletonized stock is fixed. The Benelli M1014 Limited Edition comes standard with a fixed-position skeletonized stock with a pistol grip and separate cheek piece. Like other M1014 versions, the shotgun can be quickly disassembled without tools and the stock is interchangeable with accessory field or pistol-grip stocks

  This is the M1014 model and not just the M4 model. The Benelli M4 Tactical shotgun is a unique, Auto-Regulating Gas-Operated (A.R.G.O.) semi-auto. The M4 Tactical is the combat service shotgun of the U.S. Joint Services today. Originally designed in 1998 for the U.S. Marine Corps, the M4 (M1014) was extensively tested at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. It proved totally reliable for safety, function, and performance.
