• Q: The supplied scope is so close to the forend that the sun shield actually hits it and theres no way the scope cover is fitting. The picture shows it to be close but noth THAT close. I understand there are taller rings but even the short ones shouldn't be this way am I right?

  That definitely doesn't seem right, as James said you COULD buy new rings or a riser. But I wouldn't, id take pictures and send them to Howa customer service, and I'm certain they'd take care of you. When you spend that much on a rifle everything should work right out of the box without having to spend a bunch more money.

• Q: Does this rifle have a threaded barrel to be able to change muzzle brake or add a suppressor

  Yes, the barrel is threaded with 5/8×24 thread pitch. This comes with a muzzle brake but can easily be removed just by unscrewing it and screwing on your preferred brake. Hope this helps

  Yes this rifle is also CA compliant, most boltacrion rifles are CA legal the only bolt actions that are CA banned are ones chambered in 50bmg and ones having magazine capacity over 10 rds

  Chris, This firearm comes with a Nikko-Stirling Diamond 30mm 4x16x50 long range scope. Decent scope to dial in at 800 to 1000 yards/meters. Really neat design and features. Skeleton HMD illuminated reticle, FFP reticle increases in size in proportion to target, great glass-ETE Gen lll coating, oversized turrets, audible and tactile clicks, turrets can be unlocked to free spin to dial in a insects head over 300 yards, side parallax adjustment from 10 yards to infinity to dial target right in, aircraft grade aluminium tube, sun shade. $260 to $460 for scope alone depending where you can find it.

  Hey Kenneth, yes. This will fire 7.62 NATO safely. Rifles chambered for .308 can do this, but not the other way around. Hope that helps!
