Made in the USA, the Forward Sling Mount is a sling attachment point for the Remington 870 and Mossberg 500/590/Maverick series of shotguns which clamps onto the barrel and extended magazine tube. It can be configured for use with either Push-Button QD Sling Swivels or one-point clip-in style attachments such as the MS3 Paraclip, the HK hook, ITW MASH hook, and others. Made from precision cast steel that is Melonite treated for wear and corrosion resistance.

I got this item for my Maverick 88 to attach a Magpul sling and it works flawlessly. Very easy to install and adjust.

Used on a Mossberg 940 JM Pro. Fit perfectly and really tightened up the extended magazine tube. It comes with rubber pads so you don't have to mar up your barrel or your mag tube. Can be used with a paraclip on one side and a QD on the other. It does come with 2 nuts that can be used instead of the paraclip so both sides can be QD The QD mounts are anti-rotation.

The one that I received did not fit my Rem 870 Express Tactical well. It pushes the factory mag extension downward and left marring on the bottom of the barrel and top of the mag tube. After installing it and taking a step back, the mag tube was noticeably not parallel with the barrel. Measurements at the muzzle end confirmed this. Being a bit anal, that wasn't going to fly. Also, I didn't want to take chances on putting stress on the tube extension threads as well as possibly future feeding issues. It fit slightly better on my Maverick 88 but still tight between the barrel and mag tube. I had to file and dremel the middle material off to limit it's "wedging" action which took considerable time due to it being made out of melonited steel. I went with Mesa Tactical mount which fit the 870 perfectly. This one is going to stay on the Mav 88 because the amount of work put into it wasn't enough for the 870 and I was done dealing with it. I do have to give it up to Magpul. It's made tough. I probably should have just returned it. Maybe I received one that was out of spec. Or maybe Magpul should consider making one for each manufacturer instead of the one size fits all approach with this particular part. YMMV.

Fantastic fit on standard 870 barrel and magazine tube. Product is blue steel, not typical Magpul polymer. Includes silicone inserts so you dont scratch your finish. Matches black magpul polymer furniture perfectly.
