Very nice side arm very pleased. Break in is a important time. The more i shot the better it got. Cleaning is a must for smooth operation.

Nothing much to say other than this is a great product of excellent quality. Shoots like a dream and is very accurate even at longer distances. If you are thinking about one of these, go for it, you will not be sorry.

I love this gun, I have many, but this one is the latest and has stolen my heart. I love the rounded butt, it really does help to conceal it. I paired it up with a galco ironhide holster and it has been a tremendous conceal carry duo. It is beautiful and .45 caliber, I love 1911’s and I love Smith & Wesson, what’s not to love?

God has sent this 1911 fan a gift from heaven :). This is the perfect 1911 carry gun. Just think... 4 1/2 barrel (fast draw, no print, & easy carry); scandium frame (light like aluminum strong like steel); No snag hi visibility sights; Nice beaver tail (to eliminate that pesky hand web bite) with a memory bump on the hand safety; Great thumb safety for easy access (just the right location, size, & release pressure); Adjustable trigger: Rounded grip bottom (to help eliminate where guns always print through the clothing the easiest); Flat black finish (to help reduce visibility, glare, & shine); Its accurate; Still in that .45 ACP stop em with fewer shots caliber (To help reduce the: stray bullet, shot em more than once sewage lawyers, & legal max capacity if in those location problems); All topped off with a "killer cool factor" fish scale front & rear slide serration & grip checkering. Like I said, a 1911 gift from heaven :).

This is a lighter version of the 1911 type pistol, with an alloy frame. A friend has one and recommended it to me. The pistol I received continually failed to either eject completely or to load another round. After a hundred rounds I found on inspection that the slide seemed rather tight and didn't slide smoothly. I sent the pistol to Smith and Wesson and mentioned what I considered might be the problem. When it came back the slide then had more than normal play, it was just a little loose. At the range it ejected and loaded normally, but at 15 yards the rounds were hitting about three inches low. This is the only problem I have ever had with a Smith and Wesson firearm, and I have had many.

I purchased this Smith and Wesson E Series Scandium 1911 45 a couple of years ago. One of the finest 1911s out there. Love this Gun. BUDS GUNS as always can not be beat in service, great deals, and integrity.

Purchased this firearm just prior to attending a 4-day course at FrontSight. After cleaning/lubricating it, I put 50 rounds through it before the course. I experienced 3 failures to return to battery. (Spent round ejected, the slide stripped the new round from the magazine, but failed to completely chamber it.). During the course of 600+ rounds I experienced it approx. 7-8 times. The frequency has reduced. The last 200 rounds there was only one event. I am hopefully attributing this to tight fit tolerances of manufacturing and will remedy itself after "break in" near 1000 rounds. Feels well balanced when loaded and presents very well from the holster. The bob-tail makes it more comfortable to carry than the standard grip. The scaled serrations on the forward end of the barrel are Excellant for a solid grip when manipulating the slide for chamber check even with sweaty/oily/fatigued fingers. The serrations on the front and rear of the grip result in a rock solid purchase when handling or controlling recoil. (They can also make your palm tender after 4 days and 600 rounds) The recoil spring tension seems heavy especially when performing malfunction drills when required to rack the slide manually. I expect this to relax a little after the break in period. Beautiful and great gun! It soon will become my Every Day Carry when I deem it "Broke in and ready to ride".

Well, all I can say is that this is one beautiful and well constructed pistol. Possibly the best I've ever had. I've had a lot of 1911s, but the attention to detail, component tightness, and overall feel is equal or better than either of my Kimbers and quite possibly my Sig. The fist impression is the exquisite grips with extremely good texturing. The comfort of the round butt. The equal weight distribution while in ready grip. The trigger is a little stiffer than my Kimber, but it still has to be broken in. I was showing my wife how tight and rattle free the slide to frame was and how well thought out the little details throughout the design compared to either my Kimber Pro Carry or my CDP PRO II. The extra clearance for spent rounds is one. The size of the chambered round viewer, another. The little details really add up to a damn fine pistol. I would consider it equal to my Sig Lone Star Gold in appearance and tightness. I'm no gun snob by any means, and I don't like to nit pick things in an attempt to display my intelligence....which is good, because this pistol leaves no room for nit picking. It sky rocketed itself to my carry gun immediately. I have a Shield 9 as a boot gun and really like it's quality. I'm even happier with the 1911SC and even happier that it is the product of Smith and Wesson. This is a classic sidearm manufactured by one of America's greatest arms manufacturers. If you don't pick up this pistol at this incredible price point, then you have to be some special type of stupid.
