Great pistol! I own several Springfields and this is my favorite to shoot. Very tight groups with a red dot and it eats any kind of ammo I've put through it. Works just as well with a can on it too!

Holy gigantic pistola, Batman - this thing is huge! Might be a little bit of a challenge for carry concealed and I believe in full frame carry, but this is full frame plus. Very solidly made and a sweet shooter. Place a co-witness red dot on this and run to your local gun range competition and have a blast. Trigger is solid and due to the size, recoil is a minimum. Springfield nailed this one.

Excellent firearm, it has become my competition and go to gun. It feels solid and comfortable. Not for concealed carry but I hit 99 out of 100 in competition using the iron sights. Adding red dots is a breeze. The magazine capacity gives me enough firepower to stop any threats. I keep it secure on my night table and gives me an added sense of safety and security. Workmanship is outstanding and finishes sharp. I let family and friends to try it and they are equally impressed. My daughter was able to hit inner ring with the gun something she kept struggling and while the barrel length is a factor, the smooth operation makes it easier. Using sound suppressor is easy and its size and weight helps to balance the extra weight of the suppressor. As someone with decades of experience in competitive shooting, I prefer the grip safety since I don’t have remember to disengaged a thumb safety lever and kids hands can’t grip the safety to engage the firing system. I highly recommend it

I have many 9mm handguns, but I must say that this one was the easiest to fire right out of the box. The trigger is comparable to some aftermarket models, the grip position is superb, and any recoil is minimal. The 22 round mag capacity almost unmatched. My only complaint is that no optic mounting plate comes with the gun and although it is free, it still must be ordered. The cover plate for the mount which comes on the gun was screwed on so tight, I almost stripped the screws removing it. Aside from this, however, I feel it is comparable, or better than, handguns costing much more.

Generally speaking I do not write reviews, however, I was so pleased with this purchase from Bud’s I felt I really wanted to.
First, as far as Bud’s is concerned, this was the first time I purchased anything from them and I couldn’t be more pleased. There were two different guns I’ve been looking for and, as everyone knows, trying to find (let alone purchase) a gun of pretty much any type today can be a real challenge, to say the least. I have been searching for these weapons (both 9mm) on a daily basis for several months. When, low and behold, the Springfield XDM Elite OSP 9MM 4.5” with Threaded Barrel showed up on Bud’s website as available a couple of weeks ago I jumped on it. The folks at Bud’s were very responsive and helpful and the entire process couldn’t have been easier. Everyone at Bud’s was extremely professional and went out of their way to make the whole process as smooth as possible. Bud’s will definitely be at the top of my “go to” list for any future purchases!!
Second, the Springfield XDM Elite OSP is incredibly accurate, even without a red dot site. Add a good red dot and, while I have always been a decent shot (as a retired LEO living on a ranch in Texas I get to shoot a lot!) my accuracy went through the roof. Prior to this weapon, my favorite 9MM was a full size Sig P229 Legion and, while I never thought I would ever find a gun that would compare to the Sig, I have, without question, found one that is at least as good!
Finally, for those out there that have never purchased through Bud’s I couldn’t recommend them any more strongly. They were a great place to buy through and I subsequently found out they seem to have a very loyal following (which has just grown by one)!!!

This is my second 9mm XDM, as I also own an earlier Competition model (5.25" barrel with long slide, adjustable rear sight, improved trigger over carry/duty models). I have always been happy with that gun's accuracy, ergonomics, soft recoil, high capacity, and easy maintenance.
I had thought about getting the earlier OSP model to be able to have a red dot sight and someday get a suppressor, but waited for the Elite model to become available. I'm glad I waited, the new meta trigger is even better than what came with my earlier competition model (both have a "rolling" break feel that is much different than every other stock pistol trigger; not as light/crisp as a good 1911, but much better than heavy DA/SA triggers or average striker-fired Glocks, etc). I like the extension on the grip safety, but like most folks, I'd prefer it never had one in the first place. It's never gotten in my way or caused me any problems, though (same with original XDM and my XDS). I like the extended 22-rd mags and big magazine well. It came with the flush baseplates to change them back to stock 19-rds, but I don't know why you'd want to. My older stock 19rds work fine, and drop free, but if you did have a stoppage, it might be a bit trickier to pull a flush 19-rd magazine out than one of these longer 22-rd. (Unlike the gun's description here, the pair of included magazines indeed hold 22. There's some confusion around since the upgraded Competition Elite model apparently has a shorter magwell and shorter extended mags, like only +1 or +2, not +3 like these).
This came with a simple soft zipper case, not a good hardcase like my previous Springfield guns, but I suppose it keeps the price down a little. It also did NOT come with any of the 3 optic mounting plate options. It comes with a coupon where you can pick one of the 3 choices for free from Springfield (Trijicon/Holosun, Vortex, and one other). I ordered the Trijicon plate, supposedly arriving soon; much faster than the advertised "8-12 week" turn-around, but still, these should've all been included. I can't seem to find anywhere else to order/buuy the other plate options, so hopefully I'll be happy once I do buy an optic that fits that plate.
When you register for the Warranty with Springfield, you get a coupon good for accessory orders direct from Springfield (mostly magazines) over the next 90 days, so I got a bunch more of those 22 rounders. One can never have too many magazines.
Compared to my earlier Competition model, I seem to get similar groups with my target loads, under 2" at 15 yards standing, but I'm not a competition marksman, so YMMV.
Bottom line, I really like it so far, especially the new trigger, and am looking forward to getting an optic and suppressor.

Received my Springfield XDM ELT 9MM 4.5BLK 21R on time but instead of the 21R clips, I received the 19R clips.
