great price, not the most reliable pistol

Neat little pistol. shot a couple of hundred rounds and no problems with feeding, Hard to hit accurately at any distance, but this is an inside five yard gun and it works just fine at that distance.

I ordered this gun for conceal carry in summer it is easy to conceal with just a t-shirt on, it also has been very dependable.

I now have 2 of these. 1 for my wife and 1 for me. I carry mine in a belly band holster. Wife loves hers too. It fires great with the Legend Pro hollow points I got here.

Looks good but don't like to cycle had to replace recoil spring with one with a little more tension before it would cycle

Unfortunately, this item does little to improve my satisfaction with Taurus firearms. Shipped perfect, out of the box the pistol was very clean. However, first 30 round performance will keep it out of CC rotation until proven otherwise. Additional ammo ran included FMJ, hollow points, and different types of “self defense” fodder. Not much improvement. The multiple strike design helped ignite some of the high incidence of FTFs but not all. Observed consistent light primer strikes and bulging of primer face. Upon loading the duds into a TCP 738 they all fired without exception with ample primer strike and zero bulging. I understand that these have a history of light primer strikes and as such I fully disassembled the pistol and performed the recommended “fix” and found metal particles and lube in the striker tunnel. I also polished the ramp to assist with fed issues. I will continue to run quality ammo for many more rounds and I’m fairly confident the reliability will come up... for now it goes in the safe... I’ll use the high mileage 738 for lite carry.
I will say, I really like the design, fits the hand very well with pinky extender, racks easily with the rubber insert, smooth rounded edges will pocket-carry well. Maybe with many more break-in rounds it will go bang every time........ maybe.

this is the second spectrum I have purchased because of its ability to be concealed, period. I have never been drawn to carry a 380 because of its poor jell reviews, but a 380 is better than a rock. both guns have had problems with light primer strikes. the second one has stove pipe problems. I watched a video on how to cure the light primer strike and it worked flawlessly on the first gun. it has worked fairly well on the second but not completely. I only have 130 rounds thru the second so far so I am hopeful it will be dependable somewhere around 250 rounds. the first gun is now dependable but I do not know the round count on it. Taurus has not been any help as they have not responded to my emails. too bad for an American design and build. if you age going to make 500 pieces a day, (my guess) you should be getting it built right. it is that simple. It IS easy to shoot for a small gun, and easy to conceal in jean pockets. its only saving grace. GM

These are surprisingly nice little pistols. Fairly accurate for a point blank pistol at the 3-5 yard range. With a holster (Uncle Mikes, Size 4) it is the same size as a wallet/billfold, and travels easily in the front pocket. Light enough you can wear shorts and lighter summer clothes.

I have read reviews about the Spectrum and liked the features described so I decided to purchase the firearm from Bud's. I have purchased all of my firearms from Bud's for the past 5 years and have never had a bad experience. The price and delivery have always been top notch. I received the firearm in three business days. I cleaned and checked the firearm and went to my range. The performance was hit and miss. I had light strikes, failures to feed, and stove pipes. I tried different types of ammo from several manufactures, all good quality ammo. Nothing helped despite several cleanings after trips to the range. I finally decided to polish the feed ramp and cleaned up some sharp edges and went back to the range and it helped. I did some more light polishing and after two more trips to the range it worked OK. I also found using more gun oil than I would normally use helped. After 300 rounds the firearm loosened up and works perfect now. It is very comfortable to shoot and I was pleased at the accuracy. It will shoot fmj, different types of hollow point and specialized personal defense ammo. This is not a target firearm but for it's intended use it would do what you would need. I painted the front sight with white paint and added a laser and now include it in my concealed carry. Despite the trouble at the start it was worth the effort. As always Bud's can't be beat for price and service.

Had been shopping around for a “pocket gun” for EDC. After doing some research and handling a few different models, the Spectrum was the winner. Felt fantastic in my hand and the prices at Bub’s are hard to beat. While still in the break-in period, this little “mini-blaster” is just a joy to carry.

I like the gun, light weight and accurate, but I had to send it back. To many failure to feed and light primmer strikes.

The Taurus Spectrum is perfect for C.C. I believe the quick pull from the pocket holster is smooth. I"ve shot the Winchester 95g. JHP...the Hornaday Critical Defense...the Remington Ultimate Defense, all ran with no issues. MUST clean and remove the light grease they use when they ship, and re apply with your favorite gun oil. Easy takedown. Also a large trigger finger will struggle to fit between the trigger and guard. It's a point and shoot, not an aim and shoot. Good for less than 10 yards on a quick pull. Great price for what you get. All in all I believe I made good purchase.

Great pistol! I had 2 failures to feed from the first box (50 round Winchester White Box). Then I changed to Federal ball ammo, 600 ROUNDS, NO FAILURES. Then 300 ROUNDS of Underwood Xtreme Penetrator (they're a little more expensive). NO FAILURES AT ALL. NOT ONE!!! Almost 1,000 rounds with only 2 failures (from Winchester White Box). This pistol has earned my trust. It is now my EDC. I can't carry heavy loads anymore like I did 25 years ago due to spinal cord damage and nerve damage in my hands but this pistol is easy to work and very low recoil. I love this bad boy.

Like the 1st comment said, CLEAN IT BEFORE YOU SHOOT IT! It's a nice little gun for sure, but, I can see issues if you don't at the very least lube it up before you shoot it! (It came as dry as dry can be!)

Another good one from Taurus. Good gun with no frills or extras. Reliable with good ammo and one heck of a price from Buds!

Great service from BudsGuns. Easy ordering process and fairly quick on delivery. I was very surprised with the Taurus Spectrum. This is actually a nice shooting little gun. Very little noticeable recoil and did not fail to feed or eject any rounds of different ammo used during a range session of about 150 rounds. Sights are very minimal but at a range of 3 to 5 yards were adequate to place about an 1 1/2 inch group on the target. As an added bonus my wife really likes it

Con's, 1. The weapon needs to be cleaned before firing. 2. The weapon had issues with light strikes on cheap rounds. Pro's 1. Love the double strike ability. 2. Love the low recoil. 3. Excellent hits in the black. 4. Easy break down of the weapon. 5. Feels good in the hand. 6. Runs good rounds well. Suggestion clean before firing the weapon for the first time. Overall I like the Ruger LCP 380 better but for someone who has recoil with issues would love this gun.
