Looking for a field shotgun is kind of like looking for a dog, you want one that's just right. O have seen and even bought a Savage 555E (in .16 gauge) so I knew what I was looking for in a .20. But, well, you know, the money. After a few weeks I said, "What the heck!" and I ordered one. First off, Bud's actually had the gun in stock. More than I can say about the dealers on the Denver Metro area. Next, the price was better than anything locally. How frustrating when you get quoted a price but the "dealer" can't get the item. I understand that shipping will take a little longer than usual lately, but I got the gun within 2 weeks. The price was better than anything I saw anywhere else. Beautiful wood and nice features. A prefect field gun for pheasants and maybe even some doves and cottontails. At a great price! I'll submit this but someone better explain why I don't need a 555E in .28 or .410 FROM BUD'S!

The weight and feel of this piece is great, but the lack of ejectors has become a bigger annoyance than first anticipated. I guess if you're hunting dove in Argentina it may not be an issue, but mid to late season upland game in the Midwest while wearing even light shooting gloves makes reloading impossible. This makes you forget about the light weight and focus on the fact you have to constantly take your gloves off and put them back on all day long. A gunsmith was consulted and said adding ejectors would not be possible.

Excellent craftsmanship and awesome performance. As usual Bud’s gun delivered quickly. I was expecting a little bit of kick from such a lightweight 20 qauge shotgun but this thing is perfect for my pheasant hunting needs. Ejectors really kick that empty shell out.

Great price, quick shipping Stevens 555E 20 ga O/U shotgun.
The gun arrived in excellent new condition, everything was in perfect order. Fit and finish was excellent. I have not shot this gun a whole lot yet, but when I set up my clay thrower the gun was impressive, light and quick to shoulder and point and functioned just perfectly. As long as it lasts ok I would say I got the right gun for the right price, thanks Buds once again!

I love this light weight 20 gauge that shoots 3” shells! Functions flawlessly so far. Price is perfect. Have used it to hunt forest grouse and plan to hunt quail in early January. Mu first O/U and I am hooked!

I bought this gun because I own 2 other Steven’s 555 guns and they have been excellent shooters. The purchase and FFL selections was very easy and the shipping was fairly fast. I wouldn’t hesitate buying from Buds again. The gun is all that I thought it would be and I’m really happy with it.

I received my new 555e in good order. Assembled ,read the book and did a few pattern shots. I shot a few clay birds. The gun has great balance
and swings well for an entry level o/u. It does buck a little, I have added an additional recoil pad. All good with the shotgun. My only negative
comment is their advertisement reads shipped in a hard cover container. Mine showed up in a cardboard box. I sent them an email and was
told most long guns come in cardboard boxes. Perhaps the QC and QA departments should have a visit with the advertising people.
Love the shotgun.

I own a Stevens 20 ga model 555 20ga o/u and a 12 ga model 555 E o/u. I love both. the 555 E very nice wood and operates smoothly as does the 555. I just received a 20 ga 555 E that I purchased to pass along to my grandson and have issues with the quality. I just put it together out of the box, the top lever is sticking badly and very rough through its travel. the the wood of the front end is offset to one side where it meets the action, and the wood of the stock is the same as my lower grade 555 20 ga with a little darker stain. Not to happy.

The Savage/ Stevens 555e is a decent little 20 gauge O/U for the average man. The wood and engraved receiver and ejectors make it the E model, it is made in Turkey by Kofs and only weighs 5 .75 lbs!..As usual Buds did a outstanding professional job in the transaction
