Excellent experience with my 4th purchase through buds. The pistol is perfect as expected and rides in a pocket holster most of my day when I’m around the house and in my office.

Prompt delivery (when in stock). Revolver functions like it should. Moon clips are very handy but they don't work with all brands of brass. Factory grips are ok but with my large hands and .38 +P ammo they are not the best. This revolver has been my EDC since I got it. C.B.

This is the second S&W 642 I have purchased.
The gun is a great gun!
Perfect for CCW and what would be close defense.
Twelve pound trigger makes me feel confident it will not go off unless I make it do so.
Even loaded it is light and unobtrusive.

I now have 3 J Frame Revolvers. I like them for hot weather carry. I have shot this one once and it is very accurate, close in. I'm using the Blue Steel Moonclips with Federal brass. Buy this gun from Bud's.

Another flawless transaction on an excellent weapon system. Lightweight, dependable, and easy to conceal, this 642 is a no brainer. Purchase #4 from Buds, and already eyeballing my next favorite. Thanks again for making great deals, and the buying experience, truly enjoyable. Good shooting.

If I could give 4.5 I would. Ordered the 642 Pro series with Moon Clip cylinder cut. I received 3 TK brand moon clips ( ) and cylinder was indeed cut for it. I have not had a chance to fire the gun but everything about the description and picture is "as described." If you are unsure, this firearm does NOT come with an internal lock. The Trigger pull is fairly smooth for a new DAO revolver. I'm not sure what the weight is on the trigger but it's a lighter pull than my wife's SP101 in DA. My only issue with it is the back end of the barrel at the cylinder gap (can't remember the name of that part) is pretty rough cut. It was obviously cut to length with a circular bit and then never filed smooth. I just figured a Pro series would go the extra "inch" to finish that properly. Overall, I really like the look and feel. It's incredibly light and easy to carry in any position. I prefer Appendix carry (so I'll probably pick up a MIC holster for it) and you barely feel it and no one can see it either. Can't do this with any Auto. I have a small frame so it's nice to have a gun with a small enough hand grip that it doesn't print and I don't feel the rear of a slide jamming in my belly when I try to bend down to tie my shoes or pick something up. This gun is perfect for me for EDC. Just need to shoot a couple hundred rounds through it to be fully satisfied.

Delivery was OK. Disappointed in S&W workmanship quality control, particularly for a pro series. The 642 I received had a flawed barrel with a long groove/gouge along the right side.

Absolutely beautiful gun! Smith & Wesson builds what is probably the quintessential small, "snub-nose" revolver and the M642 Pro does not disappoint! The little gun is light...the stainless finish is a nice matte, and the abbreviated grips actually fit the hand very well and do an excellent job of making the small revolver easier to handle. And added benefit is that the M642 Pro comes already cut for moon clips which is the only way a revolver should carried for CC purposes these days. In handling the gun I have not been able to find fault with anything in terms of fit, finish, and function.

It took some time for me to decide to get the 642 Pro over the standard model. I'm glad I chose the 642 Pro.I like the fact you can load and fire rounds without the moon clips. The revolver from the factory had a very smooth trigger but over 12 pounds of pull. After installing a spring kit, the trigger is very smooth and 9 pounds of pull. I also like the facotry bantam grips. I love my 642 Pro.
