Love at first sight! Mine must’ve been a one and 1000 because it came out of the box smooth and ready to go… After I installed a short draw cam it was twice the rifle… to me this 1873 repro is also a a rifle that looks good hanging on the wall and passing on to other generations of family to enjoy.

This a beautiful rendition of a classic rifle in a modern cartridge. Mine cycled .38 special and .357 magnum without any issues. Since this is a very heavy piece, the recoil was almost not existent! The long, octagonal barrel is very aesthetically pleasing, but it is very heavy and will be hard for a young person or small adult to shoot offhand. Too bad since, as I mentioned, there is minimum recoil that makes it a pleasure to shoot and a great introduction to shooting a full-bore cartridge. Fit and finish are great, with beautiful wood and shiny, deep bluing. The trigger does leave something to be desired; not bad, but certainly not the light, crisp pull I was expecting.

My new Cowboy Action Shooting rifle. I used it in 2 matches so far, and it performed admirably. The accuracy is fantastic, and the action is smooth and fast. This is a full sized rifle, with a 24 inch full hex barrell, so it is not a lightweight. It has a long sight radius, and almost no felt recoil with cowboy loads in 38 special. Just reach out to the end of the forearm, pull the rifle in to your shoulder to make a really stable firing platform, and let-R-buck.

Very pleased with this rifle. Workmanship is excellent. Gun shoots well if the “jerk behind the trigger” does his job. I have used Bud’s for numerous acquisitions and I am 100 percent satisfied with their service.

In order to properly clean the inside, you need to buy special screwdrivers SEPARATELY which I did. Even then, I damaged three screws because they are very weak. One screw will not even come out. It would help if the screws were better quality. I now have to buy replacement screws when they are available. The current ones still work but are badly damaged. I guess they do not expect you to clean the inside? They should have at least included two or three screw drivers specifically designed for this rifle. The loading gate is stiff and I hope it will soften up over time. Other than that, this rifle is awesome! It is fun to shoot with very low recoil. It is like shooting a .22 LR and the noise is barely louder than a .22, basically the same. It looks very nice as well.

The gun is beautiful and Buds was great as usual; however, when I went to my FFL for the transfer I noticed two cosmetic issues. There was a noticeable ding on the stock near the receiver and the stock had a dull finish from the plastic wrapping rubbing on the wood during shipping. As much as you pay for these firearms one would expect near perfection! I can probably use a fine buffing paste and a soft buffing pad to bring the shiny luster back to the stock; however, the dent I’ll have to live with. I didn’t want to return it because the Model 73 in 357 magnum is hard to find. I have yet to shoot it but the action seems tight and lockup is good, actually much better than my original 73. As a shooter it will be fine. Recommendations for Uberti - don’t let a dinged stock leave the factory and wrap your guns in a soft protective cloth!

Uberti makes the finest old west replicas in the world. My example was on par with this. an 1873 Winchester rifle has been on my list for a very long time and I finally decided to buy it when i found it on buds. with Ammo unavailable i can not speak of its accuracy but I trust Uberti did it right! All I need now is a pair of revolvers to match.

The fit and finish of the rifle is outstanding. It's a pleasure to shoot, too.

Gun is beautiful out of the box. Receiver and wood is all fitted perfectly. Action is smooth just as you'd expect and the look is so classic with octagonal barrel.

Love this gun. The case color hardening is well done and enhances the look of the rifle. Fit and finish are first rate. Octagon barrels are my favorite. The action is so smooth and it shoots accurately with very little recoil. Really having fun shooting. And Buds make the purchasing process effortless.

This uberti 1873 is all that I expected. The firearm is beautiful, well made and functions flawlessly. I own many firearms and have never been disappointed with the Uberti brand. I considered a Winchester and would have purchased one if it were made in the USA. Both Miroku and Uberti make great guns but being a Beretta fan I chose an Italian made product due to their consistent quality, reliability and beauty.

This is a quality gun, very nicely made, Beautiful wood work and the case hardened frame is wonderful, have not had a chance to shoot it but can’t wait.

I purchased this Uberti Model 1873 with the 24.25 inch barrel in .38/.357. After looking at Winchester offerings, I ended up liking the finish better on the Italian gun. The one I received from Buds was no different. The rifle has very nicely fit parts with no play other than a slight tolerance side to side in the lever, the action is smooth, the color case-hardening finish is beautiful with spots of blue and black, and I was not disappointed in its function on the range. The sights needed no adjustment to hit right on out of the box. The gun cycled flawlessly after a light oiling out of the box. With .38's, the recoil is almost non-existant. With .357's it's like shooting a 9mm carbine. I really like the wood on the rifle. The stock and forend have subtle patterns in the red-brown stained grain and are perfectly displayed by the well applied clear coat. After a thousand rounds of both .38 and .357, it only seems to run smoother. This thing is so simple and tough I can't imagine it won't last forever. I hope to use this rifle for the rest of my life and pass it on to my grandkids. It seemingly has a high price tag at just around $1,000, but I believe this is a bargain for the quality of firearm I got. I wish everything I spent this much money on worked as well and looked as good.

This firearm is of excellent quality. Out of the box iit was on target. It is well worth the price. The historic details are beautiful.

Great gun with a BUDS great price

Rifle shoots great, the action is very smooth. Cycling the action is almost has fun as shooting it. I've been impressed with everything so far. My only minor criticism is I thought the stock was slightly too "red". However, it has grown on me and I hesitated even mentioning it, but it was the first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box. Bud's communications were outstanding and every aspect was totally drama free.

Love the rifle. Uberti make great products. fit and finish are great! Looking forward to years of use and passing it along to the next generation.

Beautiful rifle and shoot better 1000+ rounds already and no problem with brass and metal cartridge. I buy this one in .357 mag. Buds as usual. Excellence service. Thanks

The experience with Bud's was first rate as usual. I wished I could say the same about the rifle. While it looks great it had loading issues right out of the box....very disappointing. I've tried to contact Uberti twice this week and so far they haven't replied. So far I've only tried loading and shooting 158gr flat nose JHP's. The rifle does handle and shoot excellent once you get it loaded. At this point I'm very disappointed in Uberti! Exactly what I wanted. Beautiful gun, lever action is smooth as butter, and fit and finish is tops !! .... Very little recoil (less than expected - bonus !) ... Will be in my collection permanently !!
