Great little C&C pistol. Seems to be really reliable and it's very comfortable to carry. Thumb safety is a bit stiff but hopefully will break in over time. Definitely don't need to have the safety on when carrying this pistol. The trigger pull is long enough that it's definitely safe to carry this gun locked and loaded with the safety off in a good holster.

Finally took this gun to the range last night. I purchased the MP 380 bodyguard with the green laser. Bought this to plink with and also for my girlfriend to shoot. This is a cool little pistol and I played around with it in the house. Did a rough laser adjustment with the provided tools. Was excited to test it out. Opinion? I am a tall guy with larger hands. Toyed with the idea as a sometimes carry weapon. This all changed at the range. I liked the green laser a lot and the gun itself seems to be pretty solid. It seemed to feed well for the minimal shooting I did.The pistol is so small in my hand which is exaggerated by the long trigger pull. After about 8 shots the trigger would have to be mashed against the rear guard to fire. I know Smith and Wesson would fix this but I immediately ordered a Galloway trigger kit when I got home. Will give it another chance before I give up on it because I am a S/W fan.

First this is a small firearm, my interarms walther ppk/s is a better fit in my hand then the S&W MP Shield .380, I wear a large cadet golf glove if that will give someone a reference to my hand size, I shot the weapon for the first time on 02/26/2020. The double action was smooth, but I wish like my PPK/S it was DA/SA, however it is DA all the time. I found out fast that the laser is off from the point of impact, but a laser should only be used for first acquiring target and use your sights for firing. This .380 would be a nice pocket or small Concealed handgun or for a women who has a small grip or hands. I like the compact feature for a very easy concealed firearm. I would however carry a .40 sig for every day use. Break down and cleaning was a bit of a challenged, I would look a You Tube videos on how to break the gun down and re-assemble as there a few tricks you need to observe for getting the slide back on and in working order. I fired 50 rounds the first time I fired the weapon and it never jamb or had a stove pipe or double feed, compared to my PPK/S on the 2nd magazine I had a double feed, so you make the decision. My biggest complaint and why I can not give this M&P a high rating is the sites they are CRAP. Blacked out sites, WHAT?, I am going to change out the sites for some night 3-dot as I hate them. I would only recommend this firearm to someone with a small grip size or one who might want a small compact concealable handgun. A good gun for a women's purse or a pocket handgun.

Love this little gun. I got it for my daughter because she didn’t want a 9mm. Don’t ask me. Idk. Anyway the laser is top notch of course. I would expect that from crimson trace. Fitted seamlessly onto the gun. Looks good. Nice and bright. I did notice that the trigger needed some help. It’s double action is just way to long and hard of a pull. This is for my daughter so...I found a nice trigger upgrade kit from Galloway and installed it along with an extended mag release. Now it rocks. My daughter loves it and it looks very nice. Great gun if you don’t mind the mega trigger pull or have the skills to upgrade the trigger. Recommended

The S&W Bodyguard 380 is a very concealable handgun, it is small, lightweight, and is one of the safest, it has a heavy trigger, that some find a con others a pro. The round capacity is acceptable, one of the main reasons why I selected the S&W Bodyguard 380 is the quality, it is well built, the model I got is one of the most recent ones, so S&W has fixed some issues that were affecting it's performance, the laser has been changed to the outside (Green Laser) by Crimson Trace. While in that subject Crimson Trace's website for warranty registration has been down for a while and they keep asking to check back but this has been going on for a long time, is real sad when a company forgets it's customers. I own several S&W pieces and accuracy is great, bulls eyes are no problem at the range. If I were to make any modifications to this handgun I would redesigned the trigger and make it lighter since it has a manual safety, I would also add another round to the grip and make it about 3.8 in. longer just enough for the majority of the ladies out there to be able to grip the handgun with a full hand to include their pinkies. My wife and Daughter have a little difficulty with that and end up going back to their favorite handgun and always tell me that is because the grip is too short for their smaller hands. In conclusion, with over 50 years of dealing with handguns and several other weapons I feel that the BG 380 has the potential to be the most desirable piece for personal defense and it could reach the level of the Shield, with good pricing, good quality, customer service, and ease of use. As always Bud's took care of my order without any problems.

My opinions of the S&W M&P .380 bodyguard right out of the box were especially high! It's a great looking gun and especially functional with the laser engagement in the grip. Great inovation. I haven't fired this weapon yet, but anticipate favorable results based on my experience with S&W. As always Bud's Gun Shop was quick to ship the gun to my FFL dealer upon payment. Bud's expeditious handling of the transaction and their customer service is second to none.

I ordered the bodyguard 380 with the external green crimson trace laser on a friday and It arrived at my local FFL dealer the following tuesday. I am very happy with my new S&W MP Bodyguard 380, as well as Buds wonderful customer service.

I purchased this item for my first CC weapon. So far I have been please and my wife loves the size. The trigger is a bit stiff and the grip is small for larger hands. It can be a bit loose in your hand because of the shorter, smaller grip so to correct that I purchased grip extenders to put on the stock clip and it made it much easier to handle. My wife wants this one for her CC weapon now and loves the laser site. Gives her the comfort of knowing that where she points the dot is where the round will go. Did require a bit of adjustment out of the box but very minor. All in all it is a great compact CC weapon. I will be getting another M&P model for myself now that she wants this one for her.
