I purchased this gun in 2017 for $272.00 from Bud's. I have never had a bad transaction with Bud's and like all my other purchases from them this one went perfectly. The gun itself I got to teach my stepson how to shoot with and it worked great for that and for plinking practice and for shooting small game and such here in Montana. Really accurate with everything we have run through it, it has been a great gun and worth every penny. Highly recommend for a nice bolt .22 for kids and adults.

Whole lot of fun with this well-crafted piece! Hours of shooting over a thousand rounds without an issue. Great for beginners or seasoned pros to have some fun at the range or vermin hunting!

I really can't say much about the gun, because I've never fired it. My son on the other hand, he loves it. He wanted a bolt action 22 and I wanted a rifle that was well built. So I got him the Ruger American 22. It's standing up to to hundreds of rounds he's put through it already without an issue.

It shoots well and is accurate with high sowed ammo.

I've had this gun for about 3 or 4 years now, never had any issues with it. Has an excellent trigger, breaks smooth, it's adjustable according to the manual, I just left it the way it came from the factory. Accurate right out of the box, I have never touched the sights on it. Love the fact that it takes 10/22 mags. Another reason that peaked my interest in the American 22lr is I already owned an American in 308. The only regret I have is not buying 2 of them at the time when I paid under 200 bucks for it, since my son has laid claim to it. I couldn't recommend this gun enough, if you're thinking about picking one up, id do it, you won't regret it. And as always buds was great to deal with.

THESE ARE ACCURATE LITTLE BOLT GUNS! SHE CAN PUNCH OUT THE 1" CENTER OF HER 65 YARD TARGET WITH EASE FROM A SANDBAG. EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT PRODUCT.

This rifle shoots great, but I have a problem with it ejecting some ammo.

Well made and perfect to start off the handling of bolt action rifles, .22g no recoil at all. I wish the front sight didn't come broken but oh well.

Bought this gun pre Covid when Bud's used to have sales. Have only shot it in the back yard using Super Colibris or CCI segmented quiet. The sights were dead on at short distances and there no more groundhogs coming around my garden. Both bullets will dispatch a groundhog at 15 to 20 yards

I bought this rifle and put a Redfield 4x12 scope on it. The accuracy was good and the rifle performed well. I tried several brands of ammo with various degrees of success. It will take a few shooting sessions to find out what ammo this rifle likes best. I had quarter size 5 shot groups at 50 yards so far. The trigger and bolt became a lot smoother during my first day target shooting with it. So far I am pleased with the service from Bud's and the rifle from Ruger at the price I paid.

awesome shoots very good ive used it to shoot coyotes and a bunch of other things, i put a boyds stock on it and love it even more, i'm never getting rid of this gun.

This rifle is a "shooter". I'm glad I waited to write a review until this gun got past its apparent break-in period, because at first I was irritated by constant failure-to-feed issues. I believe the 10 round magazine was just too tight when fully loaded and the first 1-3 rounds would consistently drive straight forward into the front of the magazine instead of lifting up and into the chamber. I found success loading only 7 rounds for several trips to the range and then tried 10 on a whim... with no issues. Now I've shot several hundred rounds from a full magazine without a single failure-to-feed, using the same ammo (Remington Bucket o'Bullets and CCI Mini Mags).
As a first rifle for my son, this has been a fun challenge to work through and now he's shooting holes-through-holes at 25 yards. I foresee many years of enjoyment coming from this rifle.

Like the other American Ruger line rifles I own, this rifle has lived up to my expectations. So far we have put 200 rounds through it and it has performed flawlessly. My only recommendation is to
Order the Evolution Gun Works Scope Mount for it and install a scope to us in place of.the sights that come with it.
