If your looking for chonky .45 then this is your girl. Not especially the funnest gun to shoot, but at this price point who can complain. Shoots well, very accurate. Only issue I've had is I have to seat my bullets a little depper than normal or they get jammed on the feed ramp.

Remington must have made this as a paper weight, because it sucks as a firearm!

The original magazines that came with this pistol would not function correctly, and Would jam at least once with each magazine. I contacted Remington and they sent me replacement magazines. I have not yet had a chance to try them out yet.
The four-star reading is because the magazines did not function properly to begin with

I bought the RP45 because I have had a great experience with the RP9. Both are great handguns I have never had any issues with either. They are bulky well built guns. Both shoot just as good as handguns that cost double.

For and inexpensive pistol it works great , probable put 300 round through it and no problems. Shot straight right out of box just a little adjustment and your on your way to have fun .

I was in the market for a new 45 . I wanted capacity. Looked into the rp45 for a few weeks .with some reviews i was not sure about reliability. But this firearm i got has been 100% . First trip to the range I brought a 100 rounds of fmj, tula and magteck , I ran browning bxps,,guardian gold and sig v crowns . All shot well at the range no issues. Second trip I ran a box of fed aluminum, maxxtech, and sig v crowns again. 100% . The only issue I have had was I bought a box of hornady custom. They did not fitin the mag when loaded . The nose hit the inside front of the mags and jammed the follower. No other ammo has done this at all . They are a taller 230gr bullet . So other then that great fun . Feels amazing in the hand . I have been carrying iwb for a few weeks now. Very happy I took the chance . A great shooter .

If you are looking for a reliable , dependable Home or Truck weapon. This weapon IS NOT IT!!!!!!! , the first shot was the only good one after that it was fte , ftf , ftc. I sent it to Remington for service .Received it two weeks later without an explanation of any kind. Took it too the range same issues , called Remington the person I spoke with was extremely rude ( AND THAT IS PUTTING IT MILDLY) !!!!!!!. Remington then sent me two new magazines neither of which corrected anything. Don't purchase this weapon if you can call it that , spend a little more for a Springfield or Glock. I would never put mine or anyone else in danger by attempting to depend on a gun that IMHO makes HI-POINT LOOK AWESOME!!!!!!!

I am a fan of 45acp and have shot that caliber in many different firearms. When I received it I did the cursory cleaning and re-lubing and immediately headed for the range with 500rds of 230gr hard ball and a 150rds of 185gr Hydra Shocks. I put 150rds through without one hiccup. No failures, no jams. Slide locked back after every empty mag. Noticed trigger pull became smoother and crisper after about a 100rds. Started out shooting at 7yds and was averaging 2" groups shooting fast. Moved to 12yrds and slowed down on shots and was still averaging 2" groups. After 250rds I moved to 25yrds and using a rest I was easily printing 2-1/2" groups. Found this to be one of the softest shooting and easiest to control full size 45acp's I have ever shot. I ran 100rds of 185gr Hydra shocks through it and it purred. It really liked the 185grs. It's actually easier shooting than my Colt Gold Cup. So just my opinion but I feel it's pretty hard to beat for the money in 45acp. But it is a full size firearm and not something you would hide easily for every day carry. For my uses for it, it will be just fine in my shoulder rig and with 2 extra mags, 46rds of 45acp on board is hard to beat.

I’m very pleased with the RP45. It’s a man sized gun, but the size and contour makes it very manageable, especially for the 45acp. It’s a joy to shoot the 45acp ammo without substantial recoil. The trigger was a little heavy out of the box, but with some dry fire break in, and some minor polishing of the striker fire assembly it lightened up nicely to 6 pounds. At this point I’ve ran 100 rounds through it with no failures at all. It’s a perfect nightstand handgun, especially with the 15 round magazine.

I am a retired Engineer, Machinist and Gunsmith. I can only speak for the RP45 I recieved. Don't expect this to be an out of the box shooter. It comes dripping with oil and must be disassembled just to clean it for handling I guess the factory though a liberal supply of oil would ease the poor operation. This is a Gunsmith's gun, I would not recommend anyone else buy this gun. It took me 8 hours labor to get this gun in proper functioning order. This is not the type of break in needed by shooting 50 rds through it, 500 rounds would not have improved the function. This gun left the factory floor before they finished testing and bringing the gun to correct specs. Barrel to slide lock up was a big problem and took many steps to correct it.
Now, I might add that the gun has excellent ergonomics, is made out of excellent materials and the internal design is outstanding. Equal to any $700 pistol. But, unless you're a very skilled and determined gunsmith forget it, you'll never get it to operate correctly. It wasn't just a matter of internal polishing.
That said, now that the work is done, the pistol is amazing. The engineering is beautiful, and very beefy, yet streamline. But, I was worried and disappointed when I first received it.

I purchased this pistol because of the great price and I wanted a double stack .45 ACP option for carry. I'm glad I did. First time at the range put 100 rounds through it of 230grain FMJ and a couple of break in feed issues. Second time at the range after cleaning put another 100 rounds through it without a single issue. I got very impressive tight groupings at 25ft. I am very pleased with this pistol. The grip options are great and it doesn't feel like I am carrying 15 rounds of .45 at all. Highly recommend for the money.

Very impressed with the accuracy of this pistol, both with slow and rapid succession of shots, up to 100 feet. No feeding issues with 100 rounds of cheap ammo (CCI Blazer and S&B value ammo). Seems nearly impossible to get the 15th shell into the clip, hoping the mag springs will soften with time. Also the indicator hole in the clip shows the 15 hole filled with only 14 rounds in... not that I use that feature but a heads up if that's important to you. Gun arrived well oiled. After cleaning and reoiling, after about 100 rounds cycled there are some rings on the outer barrel where it seems the slide has marked it due to some rattling during action. Basically this gun is made for shooting more than showing, which is a plus in my book. Take down is fairly simple too, and I found a great fit for my hand with all the grip choices included. All in all this has shot better than comparable glocks and shoots on par with pistols up to 300% more expensive. If you want a cheap, reliable, and serviceable pistol look no further.

A straight shooter and fantastic value. I also bought the RP9. Did a little polishing on the feed ramp. Based on a friends recommendation. Glad I purchased this pistol.

Ran 50 rounds of Federal 230gr FMJ today with the only issue being the slide did not lock one time on empty mag. This maybe my own issue because I did not give the gun a good cleaning before I took it to the range. I found it accurate and a pleasure to shoot.

I like the high capacity of this gun but it shoots horribly. I traded it at the local gun show as soon as I possibly could.
