After returning it because I couldn’t get it to run. (The law was called because the old lady next door heard me cursing and shooting) LOL After I got the gun back. It’s been absolutely beautiful. It chews through ammo like crazy. Before the bolt would get stuck open. Now it runs great. Tula ammo is the way to go with these. The stock is really short, and better for small framed folks. But it’s pretty heavy so maybe a short body builder. IDK . I will say that when I reach for my self defense rifles that I bet my life on ,this is my 2nd choice. That’s saying something. Be ready to clean up ,and polish this rifle when you get it. I’ve spent many hours polishing the bolt on this gun. Maybe it’s a creepy love affair that has evolved. You be the judge. :)

Heavy gun. Kicks like a mule and will leave bruises through jackets. Reliable but still super heavy

Buds is tops as always, I have owned H&K 91's, G3's, and Cetmes's, PTR's and this gun is no different as far as functionality, of course there are differences in fit and finish but you are paying for it. The aforementioned weapons are all but impossible to find and not very affordable, The C308 has a new barrel and a receiver made by PTR so if you want a plinking battle rifle like these you need to jump on it before the supply of surplus Cetme parts are depleted, I have had 0 problems with mine I put the wood furniture back on it and replaced the lower with a metal one. These roller locker type actions are rough on the brass if you reload other than that I'm satisfied with it.

I own ARs from Colt to PSA, I have AKs, and all sorts of shotguns, lever guns, and bolties. All that said, I absolutely love this rifle. The moment you pick this thing up, you feel how heavy and solid it is. It's an honest to goodness battle rifle and it comes in way under $1,000. You're getting a solid BR for less than most AR-15s sell for.
Now here's the thing. Because it's under that price, you need to give it TLC. It's going to be dirty, greasy, grimy, gritty, and rough. Before you go shooting it, strip this bad boy down and clean it thoroughly. Clean the chamber grooves and any part that mates with another. You're looking at 60 year old parts, so check those springs. For me, the cocking handle spring was deformed and weak from years of previous usage, so I got a brand new one from robertrtg dot com. The firing pin spring was also weak, although I had no issues with slam fires, I replaced it too with a stiffer one from HK from the same website just in case. This may void the warrranty with CAI, but I also took 2000 grit sandpaper to any piece that had rough areas. I had no problem with bolt gap, but look up online what the acceptable range is and make sure your bolt gap is working fine.
Follow the break-in procedure mentioned in the manual.

Put 1000 rounds through it pretty dirty not for a wimpy person if a shotgun is heavy to you step away

I bought this rifle about a year and a half ago, and feel like I still haven’t really gotten to shoot it all that much yet. It’s consistently had FTF and FTE issues. I would not recommend purchasing this rifle. If you want a quality 308 AR10, I would look at the DB10 from Diamondback.

Nice gun, good choice if your needing a fairly accurate seni-auto .308. Priced just right, no issues 250 rounds in.

Just received the rifle and received 3 20 round mags instead of 1 of the 5 rounders. Needs to be cleaned but appears to be in great shape.
Thank you

It took quite a bit of work to get it going smoothly, but now it's a fun rifle. The trigger is horrible and the charging handle is a work out to use and everything needed a lot of breaking in. Recoil is manageable, it's actually very accurate once you get used to the trigger. Worth the money but be prepared to do some tuning.

This is my second c308, the rifle is awesome in my opinion , the only issue I ran into is with the surplus mags I received this go around. The mags must be getting harder to come by, but the rifle functions flawlessly. The fit and finish is good even if it was a little more expensive .

Awesome firearm and extremely accurate. I did take it to a gunsmith and had a HK collapsable stock professionally installed on it because I just wanted to be able to make it more compact. It required slight modification in order to do this unlike the other clones of this model. Nonetheless, at this price point it was a great deal and a weapon I’ll never get rid of. Just in case you were wondering the stock from HK alone cost over $300 but the gunsmith only charge me $100 for the modification and installation. I’ve seen weapons out there just like mine looks for triple the amount that I paid without a top rail. The scan is accurate with iron sites but with the scope I put on it you can’t miss (unless you just simply don’t know how to shoot a high powered rifle).

Don't mind the trash talk from the PTR and HK guys. The C308 (atleast mine) is well put together, with mostly new US made parts.

Took rifle to the range for the first time, followed break-in procedures as directed in the manual. First 20 rounds no issues, next 30...multiple double feeds, fail to extract and 3 round bursts on one pull. Casings are extracting with damage. It's on its way to a gunsmith now. Spend your money on something dependable

Buds is my go to for buying guns online! the rifle itself though, no issues and a good shooter! eats up cheap steel case ammo like candy and no malfunctions after a thousand rounds! accuracy is a small issue but it could be operator error, pulling a low right. still though its a good rifle!

Sights were if by a lot great gun however runs flawlessly however you can tell it's cetme parts my internals have some wear none irregular only complaint I have about the rifle is the trigger has a bit to much creep for me but changing the trigger group is relatively simple

broke on first shot. no joke. it looks to be a hobbled together battle rifle. using spare parts, built in the garage. if this is what you want, then its your firearm

This rifle is well worth the money. Based on other reviews, I was not expecting the level of quality that I found. The plastic furniture is new. The action is smooth with a solid lock up. I ran 50 rounds of 308 winchester fmj through it with no problems. The iron sights and pic rail are skillfully welded, etc. The bore looks a little dark, but the rifle shoots straight. The trigger is fairly heavy, but usable. It will send a lot of lead pretty much to the same place in a hurry. If you remember the price that you paid you should be satisfied. It is a mistake to compare this rifle directly to those costing several times as much.
