I read that this is one of the best budget friendly shotguns you could get. Shoots great and is easy to store for home defense. I'm still searching for one, but I plan on adding a heat shield to mine. The barrel gets hot very quickly, so keep that in mind. If you're looking for your first shotgun, I highly recommend you go for this. You can't go wrong with a Mossberg.

I have the Maverick 88 in both 12 gauge (with stock) and the 20 gauge with a pistol grip. The 20 gauge was painful on my right hand and kicked more than the 12 gauge. I need to get a stock adapter to make the 20 gauge useable. The 12 gauge was a blast and I love it. I thought I would love the compact pistol grip on the 20 gauge, but was proven wrong after only a few rounds. Now I can't find a stock adapter anywhere, including through Mossberg. I suggest trying out a pistol grip shotgun before buying one. However, both Maverick 88's are great shotguns.

I just love this shotgun, it is so versatile not only for home protection but for walks thru the woods. I recommend this to all. Per the price, and in comparison to others of similarities this is a real savings.

For the price, there’s no better deal. Because it’s a pistol grip, I got the 20 guage instead of the 12. For home defense.

Came oiled up nice clean fresh new how it says I love this gun it’s alot of attachments that fit the mossberg 500 590 that fit this gun I will be shopping with buds again it arrived pretty fast within 4 days

Awesome little weapon. Feels like a 500. Perfect utility shotgun to have around for protection. Love that it’s American made as well. 20ga makes a lot of sense in a Cruiser style shotgun, it shoots nice and is very controllable. Accuracy wise it’s pretty dead on with foster slugs and surprisingly puts down a nice pattern with 3-buck and Copper plated F shot I have ran through it. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this weapon .

I bought 2 of these they hide out in some of my barns with buckshot in the pipe. I sold my 12 GA. models, my 70 year old wrist complaining.

Pistol grip pump shotgun...what can I say? It runs! I found some Rio 20 gauge 3 x 3 (9 pellets) 2 3/4" shells. Nice PD firearm.
