This ammunition is considered magnetic as the projectiles are manufactured in part with steel and are marked with silver tips, to indicate the bullet is made with a mild steel core.See 2 more answers | -

A:Yes sir The 7.62x54r is the original cartridge and the one chambered by most Mosin-Nagants today. Rarer variants include 7.62x53r (Finnish), 8x57mm Mauser and 8x50r Mannlicher. All 7.62x54r ammunition is Berdan primed and historically corrosive, so it is probably a good idea to clean your rifle more often if shooting this ammo but it will definitely work. -
