Great pistol. Small and compact. Easy to conceal.

Super fast shipping and great price. Loved the look of the RO, function not so much, this pistol has about 1500 rounds through it and it has been a jamomatic. I’ll stick to 1911’s in 45 from now on.

Three of us looked the pistol over upon opening, store manager, gun smith and myself. We took it apart completely to assure there were no issues. The pistol is tight and the trigger pull was just under 6lb. All good. The not so good is we found 4 MIM parts. The hammer, disconnector, sear and strut were all stamped plastic. I immediately ordered Wilson Combat replacements. Didn't have time to fire it but will do in two days. Parts will be her in two days as well. For the price you would think the gun would be all steel. Nice looking pistol and feels good. Will update on shooting both out of the box and with real components by the end of the week. Springfield has a promotion going for a holster with clip holder and 4 magazines.

The gun itself is beautiful. The case it came in very very nice. the holster is not the best but it does it job by holding in the gun and it does has a tension adjustment. my issue with holster is barrel sticks out of end. I cleaned the gun before i shot and have shot 100 rounds with it and have not had any failures. The trigger on gun is very good. The one issue that i have and from the reviews i have seen its common, when you rack a round in chamber and take out magazine a bullet falls out of magazine. not a big deal mostly you only take out a empty magazine but if you want to carry the gun 8+1 then kind of annoying.

This product shipped fast on time and came as advertised. 1911s I believe need a break in period and after a quick cleaning the pistol shot great the first 50 rds. After that I had issues with the pistol not putting the round fully into the chamber. I would have to push the slide forward multiple times to get the slide forward enough to put the round in the chamber. I attribute it to the cheap gun oil and brand magazines that came with the pistol. I put 150 rds through it the first time. I took the pistol home that night and cleaned it with quality CLP and loaded the mags with ammo to ease the spring tension. I took an advanced pistol class 3 days later and fired about 250 rds. I had 0 issues this time around even with additional new mags? I truly believe the gun just needed a quick break in, quality lube and mags. The pistol is a dream to shoot and has the 1911 trigger that is talked about. The holster that came with the gun is not the best but the mag caddie is pretty decent, I recommend YouTube proper disassembly on these compact 1911 pistols because they're different in one or two areas. Full size 1911 9mm mags are compatible but you will have a little bit of magazine below the frame. I would buy this pistol again even with the initial issues I had. People rag on the 1911s reliability but I think it's because people don't shoot them enough. Fine fit as a whole from frame to slide, trigger, and safety.

Bud’s beat every sporting goods store, either national chain or Mom & Pop store I checked... Order was shipped on Monday and at the FFL on Wednesday late afternoon. Can’t ask for more. The RO Compact was everything I expected from Springfield, tight, well made gun. It’s not a custom gun but it’s a good gun for the money. I’ve had a loaded 1911 for almost 20 years with zero problems with over 12,000 rounds. I gave the 9mm a break in of 200 rounds with zero problems. This will make a great carry gun for those of us who love the 1911. Although the 45 ACP is my first choice, carrying a 9mm is easier on the weight and a 1911 in 9mm is a joy to shoot.

I have had this Pistol on the range 3 times now, about 150 rounds through it. When i first got the gun i cleaned it very well before i took it to the range. the first time on the range I put five mags through it (about 40 rounds) the last round jammed was and took about 15 minutes to get it out. The second and third time everything was great put another 110 rounds or so through it without an issue. Overall it is a very nice Pistol and as impressive appearance.

I held off on this review till I had shot the pistol a bit. Now at 150 round, not many I know, with zero malfunctions. This included the factory checkmate mags. I don't like the design with the spacer at the rear as it allows the top round to "get loose", but they seem to work. I did purchase the metal form "springfield" design with feed ramp in front in officers size. These work fantastic and no more loose top round. The design of the pistol is good, love the 4" top end on the officers frame and in 9mm there is little recoil. I will likely replace the fiber optic front sight as I feel it would be more at home on their full-size range officer with adjustable rear sight. That may just be me, to me this is a carry pistol so a more robust sight is preferred. Recoil system works well. Don't like having to dig out the little clip to disassemble, but there again it is what it is. All in all a great pistol at a great price.

Nice 1911, slide to frame fit is good and it is just the right weight for carry. The one I received had some "pitting" on the grip safety, but not a big deal. I fired 10 rounds through the pistol and started to get light primer strikes. So light that the pistol did not set off another round...not good. I will be contacting both Bud's and Springfield in hopes of getting the pistol repaired because I really do like it. I want to rate this pistol high, but due to my issues I am putting it middle of the road.

What can I say... It's a Springfield 1911 from Buds. Killer fast shipping. Tight freaking gun. Great Fit. Light weight for a 1911. I can't wait to be able to burn up 9mm at the range. This gun should pay for itself in savings in the next 12 months. Only complaint, advertised a 9 rnd, but came with 2 8 round mags. (It would be great if Buds would ship me 2 9 rnd mags to make up for it! Nudge Nudge Wink Wink)
