I had this on my wish list with Buds Gunshop for awhile and when it came available I bought it right away. Buds service is great and the rifle was perfect, received several compliments on the rifle. I have three more rifles on my list to purchase and glade there is a Buds Gunshop.

Satisfied! Great rifle. Lever action a bit hard, but with time will ease up I feel... as Ive read from other reviews. Beautiful wood finish. Put a Sig Sauer Whiskey 3 scope... great! No complaints.

I had outstanding service from Bud's and the Marlin arrived in a timely way, intact and for a good price. Overall, I received a beautiful Marlin 336 Texan Deluxe as listed on the Marlin Firearms website, with one exception. That description promised Grade B wood and Bud's reviewers commented on its attractive appearance. Mine had nice but plain grain usually found on standard Marlins. Apparently, a factory mistake provided a plain stock instead of Grade B. The Bud's representative failed to understand the stock mismatch, but did provide the Marlin Customer Service number. Marlin's response was excellent and Pete provided the proper Grade B stock immediately at no cost. I now have an exceptional Marlin Texan Deluxe with beautiful grain, and I cannot wait to get to the range. This is my third purchase from Bud's and I will be back. Thanks Bud's.

OMG! What a beauty! Perfect fit and finish. Engraving and inlay are remarkable. Bluing is very nicely done. The wood grain is spectacular. Action a little tight, but will loosen up.

Service from Buds was excellent as usual. I own 8 Marlins, all JM except for this one. The 336TDL is beautiful; the walnut is high grade, with figure on both sides, buttstock and fore end. Inletting is excellent, though not perfect. Polish and bluing is deep and dark. The engraving and gold cowboy really set it off. The fondle factor on this rifle is off the charts. Action is smooth from the get go, and will improve with use. My sixty something year old eyes didn’t take kindly to the open buckhorn sights, though. I replaced the Marbles buckhorn sight with a dovetail blank, and installed a Skinner peep sight and 0.645” front sight. I wish Marlin would do this at the factory. What a difference. Shooting 2” groups all day with Winchester 170gr PowerPoint ammo. Sighted in at 2.5” high at 100 yds, any deer within 200 yds doesn’t have a chance. I do not recommend optics on this rifle, it would be a travesty, although I’ve ignored this advice on 2 of my other Marlins. If you enjoy high grade steel, deep bluing, beautiful walnut, get one of these future heirlooms.

I have been looking for a Marlin 336 type rifle. I have finally found what I was looking for in spades. This rifle is one beautiful one. The fit and finish are top drawer. The wood is absolutely outstanding. The action is very smooth and seems to be a nicely upgraded to a higher standard. On the firing line, I was able to hold a 1.3 inch group from a rest at 100 yards. The sights are wonderful Marble company ones. I did not have to make any adjustments to hold on target. All in all, I unreservedly recommend this rifle. The overall appearance will thrill your senses.

The Marlin 336 Texan that I just purchased from Bud's Gun Shop is a beautiful rifle. The overall quality of the rifle is excellent. Beautiful wood with excellent wood-to-metal fit, flawless dark bluing with nice contrasts between the polished and matte areas, the gold inlay and engraving is gorgeous, the Marbles iron sights are perfect and the functioning of the rifle is very smooth. This rifle is clearly a big step above a standard Model 336 and serves the purpose well as both a useable hunting rifle and a collectible for display. Despite some of the earlier problems with Marlin after the move to Remington's Ilion, NY plant, it looks like they got everything worked out and are now making high quality, premier firearms again. As always with Bud's Gun Shop, the price was the best out there, the ordering process was smooth and efficient, communication excellent, packing of the rifle well done..........basically they do what they say they will do and they do it very well. Thanks for another great gun deal!!!

Beautifully finished and superb function. Marlin is definitely back and they are being made they way they should be. I am more than satisfied and this gorgeous Texan has rekindled my interest in the levergun.
