The Pointman Nine is the only full-size Dan Wesson model chambered in 9mm. We have offered this model in limited quantities in the past and demand always outpaces production capacity.
This gun features our Clark-style rib on top of the forged slide with an adjustable target sight in the rear and fiber optic sight in the front as well as front and rear cocking serrations. The frame is forged stainless with an undercut trigger guard and 25 LPI front strap checkering. The flats are polished to a soft brushed finish and the rounds are sandblasted for a nice contrast. Double diamond cocobolo grips finish it off. With the lower cost of 9mm ammunition and lack of recoil, this is the perfect model for getting acquainted with the 1911. Holding 9+1 rounds, the PM-9 shines both at the range and in competition.

Every part of the handgun is well done. The barrel is fitted and tight. The slide safety engages so nice and smooth.
The trigger feels like it’s about 2 1/2 to 3lbs. Very nice and crisp. Manufactor requires 500rnd break in period. After the first 100rnd clean then shot another 400rnds and you’re good to go. Right out of the box during break in I was shooting quarter size groups at 15 yards. From the draw to target presentation the sights line up instantly.
I’m really loving this new handgun.
I've put about 150 rounds of FMJ through it so far with cleaning and lubing after each 50 rounds (per factory recommendation) and there have been no stovepipes, FTE or FTF. Recoil is minimal and it has a light and consistent trigger, so putting rounds on target is a joy. Though the trigger is not as light as my .22 with a trigger upgrade, for a factory 9mm with no additional customization, it's pretty nice. I use TW25B on the rails and disconnect, and FP-10 elsewhere. Racking the slide is buttery smooth and the safety engages and disengages with authority. The rear sight is adjustable, though I may replace it with a red dot, something I've had a lot of success with on my .22. I thought the grip texture was aggressive at first, but got used to it quickly and I don't even notice it now.
If you're looking for an all steel 9mm with a 5" barrel for range use, I don't think you can do better for the price.

A:James, since this model does not have an Optics Ready milled slide, you would need to use a Dovetail Optics plate/mount in place of the rear sight : https://www.amazon.com/Trijicon-AC32058-Pistol-Dovetail-Models/dp/B00JSAKMGK -

A:Most Dan Wessons come with Metalform or Checkmate magazines. Check out my review, it's the top one on the product page. I bought one a few months ago. It is a terrific 9mm 1911. 100% reliable and has a good trigger out of the box. It comes with two mags, and mine has run flawlessly with Wilson, Tripp, and the mags my Les Baer 9mm came with. I can't recommend the PM-9 enough, it's a great gun.See 3 more answers |
