Is this California compliant? I see the 45 is so wouldn’t this one be too? Does it not go by model? Or does the compliance also go by size of the bullets? Is the Pointman in 45 apc the only California compliant Dan Wesson? Thanks !

the CA compliance goes by specific model number 2 guns exactly alike but one is stainless and is on the list the other is blue and not on the approved list unless the manufacturer sends them one and pays the fees to test and approve it none of the Dan wesson 9mm 1911s are on the approved list https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/certified-handguns/search?make=150977

Peter, unfortunately this is not California compliant. I'm not finding any Dan Wesson's chambered in 9mm, only 45acp. Sorry but hope this helps.

California compliance is model specific. Buds has a list but it's not always 100% accurate as far as i can see. It's best to check the roster directly. I looked for you. I don't see a Dan Wesson in 9mm. https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/certified-handguns/search?make=150977 I like the CZ's. I have both an SP-01 and 75 Compact. Just bought the Compact here on Buds.

The Pointman series is built for the range, with an adjustable target rear sight and fiber optic front. Its forged slide has our inverted top rib running between the sights to reduce glare, and has front and rear cocking serrations to enable easy manipulation.

The forged, stainless steel frame has an undercut trigger guard for optimal hand placement on the pistol and 25 LPI front strap checkering to hold it firmly in place without being too harsh. Flats on this pistol are soft brushed while the rounds are bead blasted, giving a nice contrast. Double diamond cocobolo grips finish it off, for a 1911 that is range and competition ready.

This Dan Wesson Pointman 9 is a VERY high-quality firearm. I've owned Colt 1911s, including Gold Cups in the past. There is no comparison. This gun is a great example of the gunmaker's art. Fit and finish are literally perfect. Not a hint of play between frame and slide, or between bushing and barrel. Front strap and mainspring housing checkering is precise, very comfortable, and assures no shift in grip between shots. The grip panels are gorgeous. Magazine fit and function for the two provided magazines is perfect. The trigger breaks at a very crisp, consistent 2 lb. - 9 oz on my Lyman digital gauge. Slide serrations are very functional, both front and rear. Safety is crisp and positive in operation. I followed Dan Wesson's break-in procedure, firing a box of FMJ 115 gr. Blazer factory ammo. Zero issues. The gun produced a 15 yd. ragged 1-hole group. I'm not a great pistol shot, but this gun already outshoots every other handgun in my arsenal. And it is a pleasure to shoot. The barrel is a heavy profile, match-grade one, and the overall weight of the frame, slide, and barrel makes for a very soft-shooting gun. Looking forward to running my favorite bullet/load combinations through the PM-9 at the range. I'll happily update this review when I've had a chance to put my best target loads through the gun. Yes, it's a "factory" gun, and is priced accordingly. But I'm inclined to believe other shooters who claim that PM-9 receives a bit of hand fitting during assembly. Regardless, I can recommend this 1911 with absolutely no reservation. DW has hit a home run with the PM-9.

The Dan Wesson PM-9 is an incredible pistol. Build quality and accuracy is amazing. I would highly recommend the PM-9 to anyone.

Absolutely insane value! I am the point I don't even have to shoot the gun and rake the slide and dry fire it! Wow! Compared to my other production guns! Wow! 800 bucks a grand 1400 dollars! Wow! Dan Wesson is the real deal! Absolutely insane value! The gun breaks at 3 pounds 5 ounces out of the box! Oh my God! I've been into guns for 12 years! What was my problem!
