A direct descendent of the HK MR556A1 the MR556A1 Competition is a semi automatic AR styled rifle specifically developed by Heckler and Koch to exploit that match grade capability to dominate 3 Gun competitions world wide! In addition to the standard MR556A1's swagged cold hammer forged heavy contour barrel, two stage trigger and famous gas piston operation, H&K upgraded the fundamentals to give the MR556A1 a competitive edge. It features an extended 14" Modular Rail System keymod handguard and a free floating barrel with an OSS Flash Hider. They added a MAGPUL CTR adjustable/collapsible buttstock, an extended latch charging handle and an extended magazine release. These modifications will give you greater control and the speed you need to leave your competition stunned and choking on your dust. A beautiful gun from Heckler and Koch. The rifle came in perfect condition, and the prices at Bud's can't be beat. The CR comes with an 14" rail, Magpul CTR stock, extended mag release, HK polymer mag, OSS muzzle break, but no iron sights. I only have a few complaints. The HK polymer mags look nice, but seem a bit flimsy at the lips. The front end is a bit heavy, due to the heavy profile barrel. Some people might not care for the proprietary HKey rail system, same idea as keymod, but slightly different. It comes with 2 rail sections and you can purchase extras if needed. No problems to report so far, 1500+ rounds through it and no malfunctions. Absolutely love the gun and very happy with Bud's as well.
